YIMBY visited three mid-rise developments that were recently completed in the Brooklyn neighborhoods of Prospect Lefferts Gardens and Flatbush, as well as the sites of two projects that have yet to commence construction. The structures range from six to eight stories and are located within walking distance of the 2, 5, and Q trains.
Renderings have been revealed for 554–558 Metropolitan Avenue, an 11-story residential building in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Designed by IMC Architecture and developed by Green Street, the 115-foot-tall structure will yield 70 apartments. The project will also include a roughly 32-foot-deep rear yard. The multi-parcel assemblage is located mid-block between Union Avenue and Lorimer Street.
The affordable housing lottery has launched for 584 Gates Avenue, a six-story residential building in Bedford-Stuyvesant, Brooklyn. Designed by Gino Longo and developed by Joel Schwartz through 582 Gates USA LLC, the structure yields 28 residences. Available on NYC Housing Connect are nine units for residents at 130 percent of the area median income (AMI), ranging in eligible income from $135,360 to $189,540.
Construction is nearing completion on Clarkson Estates, a nine-story affordable housing project at 329 Clarkson Avenue in Flatbush, Brooklyn. Designed by CetraRuddy Architecture and developed by CAMBA Housing Ventures (CHV), the 334,745-square foot structure will yield 328 affordable rental apartments, including 164 supportive units. The project will also include a 30,000-square-foot community facility and 15,000 square feet of parking space with 80 rentable spots. The development is a part of the state’s Vital Brooklyn initiative and is situated by the corner of Clarkson and New York Avenues.
The affordable housing lottery has launched for IMPACCT Myrtle Residences, a nine-story residential building at 778 Myrtle Avenue in Bedford-Stuyvesant, Brooklyn. Designed by Urban Architectural Initiatives and developed by IMPACCT Brooklyn, the structure yields 60 residences. Available on NYC Housing Connect are 23 units for residents at 40 to 80 percent of the area median income (AMI), ranging in eligible income from $31,715 to $140,000.
