Empire State Dairy Expansion Kicks Off at 2840 Atlantic Avenue in East New York, Brooklyn

Work has begun on the expansion and redevelopment of the historic Empire State Dairy Company Building at 2840 Atlantic Avenue in East New York. Designed by Dattner Architects and developed by The Moinian Group and Bushburg, the project involves the partial gutting of the existing low-rise building to support a 14-story tower with 320 residential units, 12,000 square feet of ground-floor commercial space, and a new charter school. The entire property will comprise 370,000 square feet.

Brooklyn Crossing Completes Construction at 18 Sixth Avenue in Prospect Heights, Brooklyn

Construction is complete on Brooklyn Crossing, a 51-story residential skyscraper at 18 Sixth Avenue in Prospect Heights, Brooklyn and the tallest building in the 22-acre Pacific Park master plan. Designed by Perkins Eastman and developed by The Brodsky Organization and Greenland Forest City Partners, the 532-foot-tall, 740,000-square-foot building yields 858 rental units with 258 dedicated to affordable housing. Tishman Construction was the general contractor, McNamara Salvia was the structural engineer, and Lemay + Escobar was the interior designer for the property, which is located at the corner of Atlantic and Sixth Avenues, adjacent to Barclays Center.

Two-Tower Development at 595 Dean Street Nears Completion in Prospect Heights, Brooklyn

Work is nearing completion on 595 Dean Street, a two-building mixed-use development in Prospect Heights, Brooklyn‘s Pacific Park master plan. Designed by Handel Architects and developed by TF Cornerstone, the complex consists of a 28-story East Tower and 23-story West Tower and will yield a combined 798 residential units in studio to two-bedroom layouts, with 240 slated for affordable housing. The development also includes a 103,028-square-foot Chelsea Piers Fitness Center and Field House, a 469-vehicle parking garage, 3,412 square feet of ground-floor retail space, and a 72,600-square-foot public plaza. TFC Pacific Park GC is the general contractor and MNLA is the landscape designer for the property, which is bound by Pacific Street to the north, Dean Street to the south, 550 Vanderbilt Avenue to the east, and 535 Carlton Apartments to the west.

The affordable housing lottery has launched for The Bayard, a six-story residential building at 150 Bayard Street in Greenpoint, Brooklyn. Designed by Charles Mallea and developed by Solomon Feder, the structure yields 46 residences. Available on NYC Housing Connect are 14 units for residents at 80 to 130 percent of the area median income (AMI), ranging in eligible income from $47,520 to $187,330.

979 Pacific Street’s Exterior Takes Shape in Crown Heights, Brooklyn

Façade installation is underway on 979 Pacific Street, an eight-story mixed-use building in Crown Heights, Brooklyn. Designed by Issac & Stern Architects and developed by EMP Capital Group, the 65,160-square-foot structure will yield 69 rental units spread over 48,551 square feet and 7,406 square feet of retail space. Countywide Builders is the general contractor for the property, which is located at the intersection Pacific Street and Grand Avenue.

Alloy Development Seeks Renewable Energy Partner for 100 Flatbush Avenue in Downtown Brooklyn

Alloy Development is pursuing a renewable energy partner for 100 Flatbush Avenue, a 44-story tower in Downtown Brooklyn that will debut as the first 100-percent electric tower in New York City. The Request for Proposals call for a large-scale community solar provider that will eliminate any reliance on fossil fuels and help the building drastically reduce its carbon emissions.

450 Grand Avenue Tops Out in Clinton Hill, Brooklyn

Construction has topped out on 450 Grand Avenue, a seven-story residential building in Clinton Hill, Brooklyn. Designed by Issac & Stern Architects and developed by 450 Grand Ave Owner LLC, the 80-foot-tall structure will yield 42 units spread across 35,296 square feet with interiors by Durukan Design, and 6,089 square feet of commercial space. Citi Builders NY LLC is the general contractor for the property, which is located by the intersection of Grand Avenue and Fulton Street, adjacent to Putnam Triangle.

445 Grand Avenue’s Façade Progresses in Clinton Hill, Brooklyn

Exterior work is progressing on 445 Grand Avenue, a nine-story residential building in Clinton Hill, Brooklyn. Designed by Fogarty Finger and developed by Ranger Properties, the 110-foot-tall structure will yield 120,809 square feet with 113 rental units, 7,652 square feet of ground-floor retail space, and a 4,362-square-foot community center for the Seventh Day Adventist Church. Thirty percent of the homes will be designated as affordable housing. KD Sagamore Capital is listed as the owner and Titanium Construction Services is the general contractor for the property, which is located at the corner of Grand Avenue and Fulton Street.

Construction Breaks Ground at 1510 Broadway Affordable Housing Development in Bedford-Stuyvesant, Brooklyn

Construction is now underway at 1510 Broadway, the site for a 108-unit affordable housing project in Bedford-Stuyvesant, Brooklyn. Led by developer MacQuesten Development with support from the East Brooklyn Housing Development Corporation, the building will also offer more than 9,000 square feet of ground-floor retail space.

532 Clinton Avenue Nears Completion in Clinton Hill, Brooklyn

Construction is nearing completion on 532 Clinton Avenue, a seven-story residential building in Clinton Hill, Brooklyn. Designed by Afshari PC and developed by 532 Clinton LLC, which purchased the site for $6.5 million in 2019, the 80-foot-tall structure will yield 30,000 square feet with 14 units in one- to three-bedroom layouts. Avo Construction is the general contractor for the property, which is located between Fulton Street to the north and Vanderbilt Avenue to the south.
