ONE°15, the City’s First Public Marina in More Than 50 Years, Opens in Brooklyn Heights

While New York City is composed of islands and intersected with rivers and marine throughways within every borough, city dwellers rarely embrace any aquatic entertainment within their own backyards. ONE°15, a new marina within the Brooklyn Bridge Park public waterfront, opened this month on the banks of Brooklyn Heights and aims to remind New Yorkers of an overlooked benefit of living within a coastal city. The marina is the first of its kind to open in New York City in more than 50 years.

Handel Architects’ 41 Blue Slip Tops Out at Greenpoint Landing, in Brooklyn

Construction has topped out at 41 Blue Slip, the second building to rise in the Greenpoint Landing master plan. The reinforced concrete structure now stands 40 stories above the waterfront development. Handel Architects is the designer while Park Tower Group and Brookfield Property Partners are its developers. L+M Development Partners is the third developer of the mega project, but was not involved with this building. The project stands to the south of 37 Blue Slip, the first building to be erected at the Greenpoint, Brooklyn construction site. The glass and metal façade is steadily rising on all sides.

Cantilevering One South First Tops Out Over Domino Park, in Williamsburg

Construction has topped out on One South First, formally called 260 Kent Avenue, in the Williamsburg waterfront development of Domino Park. This is the second new structure to rise from the master plan that aims to revitalize the site of the Domino Sugar factory. The reinforced concrete building now stands 435 feet high and will soon yield 330 rentals, 66 affordable units, and 150,000 square feet of office space among 22 floors, as well as 13,000 square feet of ground-floor retail space. COOKFOX is the architect of the tower while Two Trees Management is the developer.

New Photos Revealed For Sunset Yards’ 341 39th Street, in Sunset Park

YIMBY has exclusive new photographs of the interiors and skyline views from 341 39th Street, a newly renovated commercial building in the Sunset Park development of Sunset Yards. The 200,000-square-foot mixed-use building contains ground-floor retail space, tenant amenities, and large-scale murals by Brooklyn-based artist Mike Perry, called Park Sunset. Madison Realty Capital is the developer of the site.
