Six-Story, 44-Unit Residential Building Rising At 420 Tompkins Avenue, Bedford-Stuyvesant

Earlier this year, the two-story hardware store at 420 Tompkins Avenue, in southwestern Bedford-Stuyvesant, was demolished to make way for a six-story, 44-unit residential building, and now the steel-framed structure is a story above street level, per Brownstoner. Charles Mallea is designing, and the building will measure 29,908 square feet, featuring rental-sized units averaging 680 square feet. Bed-Stuy-based CS Management is developing, and completion is expected in the spring of 2016.

When YIMBY stopped by the Prospect Plaza affordable housing development in Ocean Hill earlier this summer, the first two buildings were inching toward completion on Prospect Place between Howard and Saratoga Avenues. Across the street, foundation work on Phase 2 had just begun. Now new building applications have been filed for the third and final piece of the project at 1845 Sterling Place, a large, vacant corner lot next to Eastern Parkway.

Six-Story, 10-Unit Mixed-Use Building Coming To 1430 West 4th Street, Bensonhurst

Property owner Jenny Wu has filed applications for a six-story, 10-unit mixed-use building at 1430 West 4th Street, in eastern Bensonhurst, four blocks from the N train’s Bay Parkway stop. The building will measure 11,139 square feet in total, and will feature 2,394 square feet of health care facilities on the basement level. On the five floors above, residential units will average 875 square feet apiece. Zhen Yu Ye’s Bay Ridge-based Ye Development Inc. is the applicant of record. The site’s two-story predecessor was demolished in 2005.

19-Story, 86-Unit Residential Building Revealed At 146 Pierrepont Street, Brooklyn Heights

Earlier this summer, YIMBY reported on applications for a 19-story, 86-unit residential building at 146 Pierrepont Street, in Brooklyn Heights, and now renderings of the project have been revealed, per the Brooklyn Daily Eagle. The development site spans through the block to 189 Montague Street, and 6,232 square feet of ground-floor retail space will share both sides of the new building. Above, twenty percent of the 86 rental units (18) will be let at below-market rates. Jonathan Rose Companies is developing, and Marvel Architects is designing.

Four-Story, Two-Unit Mixed-Use Building Planned At 5122 9th Avenue, Sunset Park

Property owner Hui Shi has filed applications for a four-story, two-unit mixed-use building at 5122 9th Avenue, near 52nd Street, on the borderlands of Sunset and Borough Park. The building will measure 5,080 square feet, and includes a 1,323 square-foot health care facility on the ground floor. Residential units will average 1,880 square-feet each above, one taking up the second and third floor, and another spanning the fourth and a fifth-floor penthouse. Flushing-based Success Best Design is the applicant of record, and an existing two-story structure must first be demolished.
