Following a trail of sparse details and leaked renderings of Greenpoint’s 18 India Street, the waterfront development appears to finally be moving forward. Fresh filings reveal changes to the expected building area and use type.
Major progress has been made for Dock 72, a 16-story commercial office building rising in the Brooklyn Navy Yard. Incredibly, it is the first ground-up office building to rise in Brooklyn since MetroTech in the 1980’s. The development is a joint venture with Rudin Management and Boston Properties, with WeWork co-developing and handling amenities. WeWork will occupy nearly a third of the building.
Permits have been filed for a six-story commercial building at 1333 Broadway in Bushwick, Brooklyn. The site is a block and a half away from the Gates Avenue subway station, serviced by the J, M and Z trains. Jeremey Markowitz is listed as responsible for the development.
Local developer Joel Schwartz has filed applications for a five-story, 10-unit residential building at 922 Dekalb Ave. Located in the north-central portion of Bed-Stuy, The structure sits on a 2,500 square foot interior lot and will replace a single-story, 2,400-square-foot church, according to demolition filings submitted in February 2018.
