Façade Work Nears Top of 32-Story, 440-Unit Mixed-Use Tower at 86 Fleet Place, Downtown Brooklyn

Façade installation is now underway on the upper floors of the 32-story, 440-unit mixed-use tower under development at 86 Fleet Place, located on the corner of Myrtle Avenue in Downtown Brooklyn. Progress on the structure, which topped out in October, can be seen thanks to photos posted to the YIMBY Forums. The latest building permits have the tower measuring 427,346 square feet and standing 384 feet to its pinnacle.


2920 West 23rd Street

Three-Story, 61,100-Square-Foot NYCHA Community Center Filed at 2920 West 23rd Street, Coney Island

The New York City Housing Authority has filed applications for a three-story, 61,143-square-foot community center on the grounds of the two-tower, 510-unit Gerald J. Carey Gardens public housing complex in Coney Island. The new building will be built at 2920 West 23rd Street, immediately north of the western tower. The 62-foot-tall facility will contain multi-purpose rooms, club rooms, play rooms, a basketball court, and a community garden. Nelligan White Architects is the architect of record. The site is currently a parking lot.


15 Lafayette Avenue

12-Story, 123-Unit Mixed-Use Project Rises to Seventh Floor at 15 Lafayette Avenue, Downtown Brooklyn

Construction is now underway on the seventh floor of the 12-story, 123-unit mixed-use building under development at 15 Lafayette Avenue, located on the corner of Ashland Place in Downtown Brooklyn. Progress can be seen thanks to photos posted to the YIMBY Forums by Tectonic. The latest building permits state the project will measure 120,093 square feet and rise 138 feet to its main roof, not including the bulkhead.

Community Board Rejects Proposed Two-Building, 296-Unit Bedford-Stuyvesant Residential Project

Community Board 3 has voted against Riverside Developer USA’s plans for two residential buildings, proposed to contain a total of 296 apartments, at 376 Flushing Avenue and 43 Franklin Avenue, in the northwestern corner of Bedford-Stuyvesant. The building on Flushing would rise eight stories and measure 176,671 square feet, while the one on Franklin would rise six stories and measure 126,839 square feet. Thirty percent, or 88 apartments, are set to rent at below-market rates through the housing lottery to families making 80 percent of the area median income, or AMI.
