Three-Story Commercial-Community Building Planned At 2831 West 8th Street, Coney Island

Cammeby’s International Group has filed applications for a three-story commercial/community-facility building at 614-638 Sheepshead Bay Road and 2831-2843 West 8th Street, on Coney Island. The complex will have 46,350 square feet of community-facility space, and 41,600 square feet of commercial space, which includes retail and offices, according to the Schedule A. The entire building, mechanical space included, will measure roughly 155,600 square feet, and S9 Architecture & Engineering is designing. At No. 638, demolition has begun on an old single-story structure, and a two-story building currently exists at No. 614. A block to the east, the same developer is planning a 40-story mixed-use building at 532 Neptune Avenue.

Revealed: 15 Jackson Street, Williamsburg

Last fall, plans were filed for an eight-story apartment building at 15 Jackson Street, next to the BQE in Williamsburg. Now YIMBY has interior and exterior renderings for the project, which got its first round of building permits in January.

Hotels are flocking to North Brooklyn’s industrial zone, but yesterday YIMBY noticed an unusual filing for a new artist studio building at 58 Grattan Street between Morgan and Knickerbocker Avenues in East Williamsburg.

Four-Story, Four-Unit Residential Project Filed For 373 Classon Avenue, Bed-Stuy

Property owner Ray Sapiro has filed applications for a four-story, four-unit residential building at 373 Classon Avenue, in western Bedford-Stuyvesant (on the border with Clinton Hill). The building will measure 4,000 square feet, and each unit will have its own floor. Oscar Fuertes’ OMF Architecture is designing, and an existing single-story structure must first be removed.

Extell Acquires CityPoint Site At 138 Willoughby Street, Could Be Brooklyn’s Tallest

Last week, Extell Development acquired the last development site of the City Point project at 138 Willoughby Street, in Downtown Brooklyn, in a $115.5 million deal. Extell is technically leasing the 21,500 square-foot site, and the developer is planning to construct a 665,000 square-foot mixed-use tower. A four-story, 65,000 square-foot retail base is part of the deal, and Washington Square Partners and Acadia Realty Trust will own that portion.

The proposed East New York rezoning is already drawing new development to the area near Broadway Junction, like a new hotel planned at 100 New Jersey Avenue in the shadow of the elevated J train tracks in Cypress Hills, East New York’s northern section.

Four-Story, Single-Family Townhouses With Art Galleries Filed At 432 Van Brunt Street, Red Hook

Marlboro Builders has filed applications for three four-story, single-family townhouses spanning the vacant lots 430-434 Van Brunt Street, in Red Hook. The buildings will be spread across 8,535 square feet, and situated on the first floor of each building will be an art gallery. Between the three buildings, the total space for said community facility will measure 1,222 square feet; Eric Safyan is designing.

57-Story Tower At 100 Willoughby Street Wraps Up Exterior Construction, Downtown Brooklyn

In March, YIMBY checked in on the construction of AvalonBay’s 57-story, 861-unit mixed-use building going up at 100 Willoughby Street, in Downtown Brooklyn, and now Brownstoner notes cladding is wrapping up around the upper levels of the nearly topped-out structure. Dubbed AVA DoBro, the tower will have 15,000 square feet of retail space in its base, and the first six residential floors should be ready for move-ins by September; the entire building will open in early 2016, and SLCE is designing.
