The East New York development boom continues to gain steam, and new building applications have now been filed for a site somewhat removed from the majority of the neighborhood’s new construction, at 975 Liberty Avenue. The lot is located just to the south of Cypress Hills’ boundaries, two blocks north of the A and C trains’ Euclid Avenue stop. The construction area will measure just shy of 37,000 square feet, which will include a nine-car parking garage on the first floor, 478 square feet of commercial space, and 23,125 square feet of residential space, to be divided amongst 35 units. At an average size of 650 square feet, rentals are all but guaranteed. Vasilious Georgopolous of Panagis Georgopolous Architect PLLC is the architect of record, and Sal Mendolia of Liberty for All LLC is listed as the developer.
