The Brook Begins Ascent at 589 Fulton Street in Downtown Brooklyn

At number 12 on our year-end countdown of the tallest buildings under construction in New York is The Brook, a 575-foot-tall residential skyscraper at 589 Fulton Street in Downtown Brooklyn. Designed by Beyer Blinder Belle and developed by Witkoff Group and Apollo Global Management, the 51-story structure will span 557,973 square feet and yield 591 rental units with an average scope of 827 square feet, with 30 percent of the inventory reserved for affordable housing, as well as 68,693 square feet of retail space, a cellar level, and two floors of recreational and sports amenities. Bonetti Kozerski is the interior designer and Suffolk Construction is the general contractor for the project, which is bound by DeKalb Avenue to the north, Fulton Street to the south, Flatbush Avenue diagonally to the east, and Bond Street to the west.

One Domino Square Tops Out at 346 Kent Avenue in Williamsburg, Brooklyn

The 13th-tallest building on our year-end construction countdown is One Domino Square, a residential complex with two towers standing 574 and 472 feet tall at 346 Kent Avenue in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Designed by Selldorf Architects and developed by Two Trees, the 57- and 39-story structures will yield 600 units with both condominium and rental apartments. 346 Kent Construction is the general contractor for the property, which is known as Site D in the Domino Sugar waterfront master plan from SHoP Architects and James Corner Field Operations and is bound by the former Domino Sugar Refinery at 292 Kent Avenue to the north, Kent Avenue to the east, and River Street and Domino Park to the west.

Housing Lottery Launches for Linden Grove Senior Residences at 223 Linden Street in Bushwick, Brooklyn

The affordable housing lottery has launched for Linden Grove Senior Residences, a 13-story residential buildings at 223 Linden Street in Bushwick, Brooklyn. Developed by Blue Sea Development Company and Gilbane Development Company, the structure yields 153 residences. Available on NYC Housing Connect are 80 units for residents at 50 percent of the area median income (AMI), ranging in eligible income from $72,000 to $167,570.

Permits Filed for 82 Stagg Street in Williamsburg, Brooklyn

Funding Secured For 12 Halsey Street In Bedford-Stuyvesant, Brooklyn

EJS Group, in partnership with Hope Street Capital, have successfully closed on a $108.15 million construction financing package for their upcoming residential development at 12 Halsey Street in Bedford-Stuyvesant, Brooklyn. This project, also referred to as 1215 Fulton Street, is part of the Affordable New York Program and comprises three buildings with approximately 240 rental units, with 30 percent allocated as affordable housing.

At number 17 on our year-end countdown of the tallest buildings under construction in New York is 625 Fulton Street, a 500-foot-tall mixed-use skyscraper in Downtown Brooklyn. Designed by Fischer Rasmussen Whitefield Architects and developed by Rabsky Group with $450 million in construction financing from Madison Realty Capital, the 35-story structure will yield 1,098 rental units, 26,000 square feet of retail space on the lower levels, and an on-site parking garage for 250 vehicles. Galaxy Developers is the general contractor for the property, which is alternately addressed as 485 Hudson Avenue and bound by the 34-story 80 DeKalb Avenue to the north, Fulton Street to the south, Rockwell Place to the east, and Hudson Avenue to the west.

Four New Companies Sign Leases at Industry City In Sunset Park, Brooklyn

Industry City, a 35-acre mixed-use complex along the Sunset Park waterfront in Brooklyn, has announced four new lease signings. Kinolime, Dowbuilt, Prudential Insurance, and KYHA Studios will occupy a combined 15,282 square feet through Industry City’s flexible leasing policy, which allows tenants to secure additional space if needed in the future.

198 St. Nicholas Avenue Completes Construction in Bushwick, Brooklyn

Construction is complete on 198 St. Nicholas Avenue, a four-story condominium building in Bushwick, Brooklyn. Designed by Melamed Architect and developed by AUM-NY, the project involved the repurposing of a former church and the construction of four new levels above, spanning 11,500 square feet and yielding six units. Sales have been finalized for all of the homes at the property, which is located at the corner of Harman Street and St. Nicholas Avenue.
