Thanks to aerial photographs taken by Tectonic, we now have a clear overview of the current progress at 66 Hudson Boulevard, aka The Spiral. Designed by Bjarke Ingels Group and developed by Tishman Speyer, the site of the future supertall commercial office building is wrapping up excavation while the two construction cranes assembled in the past couple of weeks are now fully operating.
Morris Adjmi Architects will return to the city’s Landmarks Preservation Commission to present updated proposals for 430 West Broadway. The new office building was originally designed with a grey brick façade and large, metal-framed windows meant to evoke the historic glass-windowed sidewalks seen throughout SoHo and TriBeCa neighborhoods.
Designed with a symmetrically curvilinear space frame with triangular-shaped glass panels, construction progresses on the new addition at 44 Union Square. When completed, this contemporary addition will create two new floors that overlook Union Square. The total square footage of the 90-year-old landmarked mixed-use building will increase to 70,348 square feet. BKSK Architects is the designer, while Edifice Real Estate Partners is developing the property. CNY Group is in charge of the construction and renovations.
606 Broadway, on the corner of Houston Street, is nearly complete. The narrow, triangular-shaped building is composed of a steel structure rising six stories above SoHo. It is being designed by S9 Architects and developed by Madison Capital Realty. When finished, 606 Broadway will have 34,300 square feet of interior space with 22,500 square feet allocated for future office space.
In a surprise announcement, real estate investment firm RFR is in pursuit of a new anchor tenant to fill 300,000 square feet of Class-A office space at 345 Park Avenue South. The available space amounts to almost the entirety of the property, including a new private rooftop terrace.
