Largest Demolition In NYC’s History Gaining Steam at JPMorgan Chase’s 270 Park Avenue, in Midtown East

The demolition of 270 Park Avenue is progressing in Midtown East, as new scaffolding and netting have been installed on the exterior of the Modernist-style skyscraper. These join the construction elevator and sidewalk scaffolding that were assembled several months ago on the 1.5-million-square-foot, 52-story tower. JPMorgan Chase is the developer and Foster + Partners Architects is the design firm for the upcoming 57-story supertall that will rise in its place. Adamson Associates is listed as the architect of record.

The exterior glass curtain wall of 74 Trinity Place has reached its 424-foot tall roof parapet in the Financial District. The bronze-trimmed, 26-story superstructure stands directly behind Trinity Church and is being designed by Pelli Clarke Pelli Architects and developed by Trinity Real EstateStephen B. Jacobs Group is the executive architect of the 310,000-square-foot building.

Work on 15, 30, and 35 Hudson Yards in the first phase of Related Companies’ master plan is wrapping up, as the construction elevator hoists on the exterior of the skyscrapers are in the process of being dismantled. The fast pace of construction at the $25 billion Midtown site was followed by a number of milestone completions, dedication ceremonies, and openings. 15 Hudson Yards is designed by Diller Scofidio + Renfro and Rockwell Group, 30 Hudson Yards by Kohn Pedersen Fox, and 35 Hudson Yards by Skidmore Owings & Merrill.

YIMBY Tours Office Floors of One Willoughby Square, in Downtown Brooklyn

YIMBY recently went on a hard hat tour of One Willoughby Square, aka 420 Albee Square in Downtown Brooklyn, which is on track to become the tallest new office building in the borough. The 495-foot-tall building, which will contain 500,000 square feet of Class A office space across 34 stories, is being designed by FXCollaborative and developed by JEMB Realty. Gilbane Development Company is in charge of the construction progress.
