Plans For Central Park’s Women’s Rights Monument Returns to the Landmarks Preservation Commission

In October, the city’s Public Design Commission voted to erect a large monument within Central Park honoring Sojourner Truth, Susan B. Anthony, and Elizabeth Cady Stanton as pioneers in support of women’s rights. The project team now returns to the Landmark Preservation Commission to request the removal of seven benches immediately in front of the monument and newly revealed text honoring the three historic figures.

Work Reaches Street Level at 799 Broadway in Greenwich Village

Work on the lower levels of 799 Broadway has now reached street level. The Greenwich Village development will become a 12-story, 182-foot-tall office building with around 180,00 square feet of newly built space. Normandy Real Estate Partners and Columbia Property Trust are developing the project, which is designed by Perkins + Will. Cushman & Wakefield is in charge of marketing the building.

Located just east of Union Square, the development is officially known as the Union Square Tech Training Center. The 254,000-square-foot project will include a mix of affordable and market-rate office space for tech companies, retail, and dining facilities managed by Urbanspace. Private entities RAL Development and Suffolk Construction are also part of the project team.
