One Vanderbilt Progresses Toward August 2020 Opening in Midtown East

Work is moving along steadily on Kohn Pedersen Fox’s One Vanderbilt, number three in YIMBY’s countdown of the tallest buildings under construction in the city. Developed by SL Green, the 77-story, 1,401-foot-tall commercial office skyscraper is tallest structure in Midtown East and the tallest project realized so far in the Midtown East rezoning initiative. TD Bank is signed on as the anchor tenant of the 1.75-million-square-foot property, which is due to open in August of 2020.

The Edge at 30 Hudson Yards Prepares for March 2020 Opening

Work is wrapping up on The Edge observation deck at 30 Hudson Yards in preparation for a March 11, 2020 opening date. Cantilevering 80 feet out above Tenth Avenue at an elevation of 1,131 feet, The Edge is the highest outdoor observation deck in the Western Hemisphere. The platform protrudes from the sloped eastern elevation of the Kohn Pedersen Fox-designed commercial office building, which at 1,296 feet tall comes in at number four in our countdown of the tallest buildings being constructed in New York City. Related Companies and Oxford Properties Group are the developers of the supertall, which is also the tallest structure in first phase of Hudson Yards.

The Spiral Continues Rapid Ascent at 66 Hudson Boulevard in Hudson Yards

Construction is moving along at 66 Hudson Boulevard, aka The Spiral, the eighth-tallest skyscraper under construction in New York City in YIMBY’s annual countdown. Designed by Bjarke Ingels Group, the massive commercial office tower is rapidly ascending toward its 1,031-foot-tall parapet over the Midtown neighborhood of Hudson Yards. Tishman Speyer is the developer, Turner Construction Company is the construction manager, and Banker Steel is in charge of fabricating the 66-story, $3.7 billion supertall.
