425 Park Avenue Nears Completion in Midtown East, Manhattan

Work continues to wrap up on 425 Park Avenue, a 47-story commercial skyscraper in Midtown East. Designed by Norman Foster of Foster + Partners for L&L Holding Company, Tokyu Land Corporation, and co-managing partner BentallGreenOak, the 897-foot-tall structure will yield 667,000 square feet of office space and a ground-floor restaurant run by world-renowned Chef Daniel Humm, proprietor of the three Michelin-starred Eleven Madison Park.

Construction on 550 Madison Avenue’s Garden Space Moves Along in Midtown East, Manhattan

Construction is complete on the steel and glass garden canopy at 550 Madison Avenue, a 684-foot-tall landmarked skyscraper in Midtown East. The triple-height framework is designed by Snøhetta with AECOM Tishman as the general contractor, and is part of a 21,000-square-foot indoor-outdoor renovation of the 38-year-old postmodern office building by The Olayan Group and RXR Realty, along with a revamped lobby designed by Gensler that was completed late last year. The developers are aiming to achieve LEED Platinum and WELL Gold certifications for the building, which is located between East 55th and 56th Streets.

Rabina Closes on $540M Financing Package for 520 Fifth Avenue Supertall in Midtown, Manhattan

New York development firm Rabina has closed on a $540 million construction package to complete a new supertall tower at 520 Fifth Avenue. Designed by Kohn Pedersen Fox, the structure will top out at 1,000 feet and contain a collection of condominiums and associated amenity spaces, boutique office space, a ground-floor retail component, and public recreation space.

Two Manhattan West’s Glass Curtain Wall Approaches Pinnacle in Midtown West, Manhatan

Façade installation is nearing the parapet of Two Manhattan West, a 58-story commercial skyscraper in the five-building Manhattan West master plan in Midtown West. Designed by Skidmore Owings & Merrill and developed by Brookfield, the 935-foot-tall tower will yield 2 million square feet of office space directly to the south of its taller fraternal sibling, One Manhattan West. W&W Glass is the facade contractor and AECOM Tishman is the general contractor for the project, which is aiming for LEED Gold Certification and is located at the corner of West 31st Street and Ninth Avenue. Two Manhattan West is already 25 percent leased with law firm Cravath, Swaine & Moore confirmed as the flagship tenant.
