Tishman Speyer Confirms 530,000-Square-Foot Lease at The Spiral in Hudson Yards

Developer Tishman Speyer and Debevoise & Plimpton LLP have finalized negotiations for a massive 530,000-square-foot office at 66 Hudson Boulevard, aka The Spiral. The global law firm expects to relocate its headquarters from 919 Third Avenue in the second half of 2022. With this latest transaction, Tishman Speyer has now successfully pre-leased 54 percent of the building.

New York YIMBY’s 2020 Construction Report Shows 36,467 New Residential Unit Filings, A 7.1% Jump

YIMBY’s 2019 New Building Report, released this time last year, showed a major jump in applications from 2017 into 2018, with new residential units filed with the Department of Buildings rising from 20,393 to 34,039. YIMBY’s 2020 New Construction Report shows that citywide gains continued into 2019, with total units filed increasing to 36,467, a jump of 2,428 or 7.1%. One Willoughby Square’s Glass Curtain Installation Begins in Downtown Brooklyn

Installation of the curtain wall has begun at One Willoughby Square, aka 420 Albee Square, in Downtown Brooklyn. The first row of industrial-style glass panels is now in place on the second floor of the 34-story, 495-foot-tall reinforced concrete skyscraper, joining the other windows already installed on the eastern and northern elevations. Designed by FXCollaborative and developed by JEMB Realty, the topped-out project currently holds the title of the tallest new office building in Brooklyn, and will yield 500,000 square feet of Class A office space. Gilbane Building Company is in charge of construction.
