Ronald O. Perelman Performing Arts Center’s Marble Cladding More Than Halfway Installed in Financial District, Manhattan

Façade installation is continuing to progress on the Ronald O. Perelman Performing Arts Center, a 138-foot-tall performance venue in the World Trade Center site in the Financial District. Designed by REX with Davis Brody Bond Architects as the executive architect and developed by non-profit company The Perelman, the structure is located between Skidmore Owings & Merrill‘s One World Trade Center to the west, Vesey Street to the north, Fulton Street to the south, and Greenwich Street to the east.

Michael Muroff Architect has revealed the first renderings of a new five-story residential building in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. The rental property is located at 124 Withers Street and will span just over 13,000 square feet with 14 one-bedroom units.

Designed by Marvel Architects and developed through the Jerome Housing Development Fund, the structure yields 175 residences. Available on NYC Housing Connect are 60 units for residents at 60 to 80 percent of the area median income (AMI), ranging in eligible income from $34,972 to $118,400.

Located between the Major Deegan Expressway and Harlem River waterfront, the lot is near the 138 Street-Grand Concourse subway station, serviced by the 4 and 5 trains. Jacob Sofer under the 101 Macombs Place LLC is listed as the owner behind the applications.

Activity Resumes on 1,011-Foot Supertall at 262 Fifth Avenue in NoMad, Manhattan

Excavation has finally begun at 262 Fifth Avenue, the site of a long-planned 1,011-foot-tall residential supertall skyscraper in NoMad. Designed by Russian-based firm Meganom with SLCE Architects as the executive architect and developed by Boris Kuzinez of Five Points Development under the Five Points 262 Project, LLC, the 60-story tower will yield 139,168 square feet of residential space divided into 41 units and 10,850 square feet of retail space on the first two floors. CM & Associates Construction Management, LLC is the general contractor for the project, which is located at the corner of Fifth Avenue and West 29th Street.

Google’s New Headquarters at St. John’s Terminal Nears Completion in Hudson Square, Manhattan

Work is nearing completion on Google’s 1.3 million-square-foot headquarters at 550 Washington Street in Hudson Square. Designed by COOKFOX Architects and developed by Oxford Properties, the 232-foot-tall building is the centerpiece of the company’s “Googleplex” master plan that will encompass a grand total of 1.7 million square feet across three separate structures. The other two sites include 315 Hudson Street and 345 Hudson Street. Turner Construction is responsible for building the 12-story project over the brick-clad base that was historically known as St. John’s Terminal. 550 Washington Street spans two full city blocks between West Street, West Houston Street, Washington Street, and the New York Department of Sanitation building.
