City agencies have kicked off construction on a 21-story “tech hub” at 124 East 14th Street in Manhattan, just east of Union Square. Known officially as the Union Square Tech Training Center, the project is poised to accelerate the diversification of New York City’s technology sector through the provision of education facilities, vocational training, and on-site resources for local start-ups.
Permits have been filed for a 15-story residential building at 161 Broome Street on the Lower East Side of Manhattan. Located between Clinton Street and Attorney Street, the lot is four blocks east of the Delancey Street-Essex Street subway station, serviced by the F, M, J, and Z trains. Grand Street Guild Housing Development is listed as the owner behind the applications.
Permits have been filed for a seven-story mixed-use building at 521 East 98th Street in Brownsville, Brooklyn. Located on the corner of Strauss Street and East 98th Street, the lot is near the Saratoga Avenue subway station, serviced by the 2, 3, and 4 trains. Brookdale Hospital Medical Center is listed as the owner behind the applications.
Construction at 200 Amsterdam Avenue has topped out. The residential skyscraper stands 668 feet high above the Upper West Side and has secured the title of tallest structure in the neighborhood, if only temporarily. The 51-story building is designed by Elkus Manfredi Architects and developed by SJP Properties. CetraRuddy is the lead interior designer for the 283,000-square-foot project.
West Egg Development has released renderings of a ground-up, five-story residential property in East Flatbush, Brooklyn. Located at 110 East 53rd Street between Winthrop Street and Clarkson Avenue, the building replaces a two-story single-family home and an associated rear yard.
