Work is finishing up on the Innolabs life science facility at 45-18 Court Square in Long Island City, Queens. Designed by Perkins + Will and developed by King Street Properties, Newmark Knight Frank, and GFP Real Estate, the project involved the restoration of a central building and construction of a six-story addition in multiple wings. The low-rise property is located just south of Jackson Avenue between Court Square West and Pearson Street, a short walk from the 7, E, and G trains at the Court Square subway station.

St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church Continues to Wrap Construction in the Financial District, Manhattan

Construction is getting close to completion on St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church in the Financial District. Designed by Santiago Calatrava and developed by The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, the reinforced concrete structure sits atop Liberty Park by the intersection of Greenwich and Liberty Streets. The ground floor of the religious facility is adjacent to the elevated park space and also rests on the roof of the vehicle security center for the subterranean ramps that run beneath the World Trade Center.

Demolition Concludes at 417 Park Avenue in Midtown East, Manhattan

Demolition has concluded at 417 Park Avenue, the site of a 220,000-square-foot office tower in Midtown East. Developed by GDS Development (GDSNY) and Klövern AB, which paid $184 million for the property, the building will rise from the corner of Park Avenue and East 55th Street with a floor area ratio of 25 under Midtown East Rezoning regulations.

Sales Launch for 262 55th Street in Sunset Park, Brooklyn

NYU’s Expansion at 181 Mercer Street Nears Completion in Greenwich Village, Manhattan

Construction is nearing completion on NYU‘s campus expansion at 181 Mercer Street in Greenwich Village. Designed by Davis Brody Bond and KieranTimberlake, the 735,000-square-foot complex consists of three towers rising from a full-block podium between Houston, Mercer, and Bleecker Streets and I.M. Pei’s University Village complex. The project is the culmination of over a decade of proposals, planning, and building that dates back to the mid 2000s. Turner Construction Company is the general contractor for the development, which is aiming for LEED gold certification.

Foundations Progress at 27-20 42nd Road, aka Project Athena, in Hunters Point, Queens

Foundation work is progressing at Project Athena LIC, at 27-20 42nd Road in the Hunter’s Point section of Long Island City, Queens. This will eventually give rise to a ground up eight-story mixed-use residential building designed by Ismael Leyva Architects. YIMBY last reported that the 99-foot-tall development will yield a total of 58,580 square feet, with 36,097 square feet designated for future residential space and 3,345 square feet for the commercial space. 51 residences are expected to be housed inside the edifice, which will most likely be rentals based on the average unit size of 707 square feet. The reinforced concrete-based structure will also come with a cellar and a 50-foot-long rear yard for occupants.

Developers Debut Next Phase of Rentals and Social Amenities at Harrison Urby in New Jersey
