This week, Related Companies unveiled multiple lighting displays and mural installations located within a mixed-use complex known as The Point LIC in Long Island City, Queens. The development is comprised of public walkways, a landscaped plaza, and two distinct commercial properties known as Paragon and Blanchard.
Permits have been filed for a nine-story school building at 489 State Street in Boerum Hill, Brooklyn. Located between Third Avenue and Flatbush Avenue, the lot is two blocks north of the Atlantic Avenue-Barclay Center subway station, serviced by the B, D, N, Q, R, 2, 3, 4, and 5 trains. New York City Educational Construction Fund is listed as the owner behind the applications.
Permits have been filed for a six-story residential building at 217 Franklin Street in Greenpoint, Brooklyn. Located between Freeman Street and Eagle Street, the lot is a short walk from the Greenpoint Avenue subway station, serviced by the G train. Idan Shitrit under the 217 Franklin Street LLC is listed as the owner behind the applications.
Construction has topped out at 45 Park Place as the glass curtain wall is continuing to make its way up the 43-story Tribeca superstructure. The cocoon netting has been fully removed revealing the skeleton frame of the stepped crown, which will eventually be covered with glass as well. The 667-foot-tall residential skyscraper is being developed by Sharif el-Gamal of Soho Properties and is designed by SOMA Architects with Ismael Leyva Architects serving as the executive and residential architect. Sales of the units, which feature interiors designed by Piero Lissoni, are being handled by Corcoran Sunshine.
Detailed floorplans have surfaced for a new residential building at 718 Bushwick Avenue in Bushwick, Brooklyn. Designed by Robert Bianchini of Arc Architecture + Design Studio, the property is currently in pre-construction phases and will replace an aging, Italianate-style residential building that dates back to the early 1900s.
