Two Three-Story, Two-Unit Homes Coming To 37-17 98th Street, North Corona

Property owner Shan Lin has received permits to build two, three-story residential buildings at 37-17 – 37-21 98th Street, in North Corona, three blocks from the Junction Boulevard stop on the 7 train. Each will measure 4,071 square feet and boast two relatively large units. One unit will occupy the ground floor of each structure, while the second unit will span the second and third levels. Robert Lin’s Flushing-based A&T Engineering is the applicant of record. Each lot’s former two-story wood-framed house was demolished this past summer.

Touring the Under Construction Condo Conversion at 212 Fifth Avenue, Flatiron District

The Neo-Gothic high-rise at 212 Fifth Avenue has occupied a wedge-shaped plot just north of Madison Square Park since 1912. It once held furniture and garment manufacturers, who had their offices on the upper floors and massive showrooms on the lower ones. Now, Madison and Thor Equities are converting the 24-story building to condos, and they’re restoring the landmarked limestone facade and cornices in the process. YIMBY recently toured the property and got a close-up look at the restoration.

20-Story Office Building At 34 East 51st Street Readied For January Opening, Midtown

Back in January of 2014, YIMBY brought you a construction update on the 20-story, 75,000 square-foot office building planned at 34 East 51st Street, in Midtown, and later that month, we brought you a rendering. Today, the building is structurally complete and preparing for a January 2016 opening date, according to Crain’s. The boutique office property’s floors range from 2,700 to 5,000 square feet, and it also has club-like amenities, with the overall setup geared towards smaller office tenants. Istanbul-based developer Sedesco is behind the Skidmore, Owings & Merrill-designed project.
