Designed by Ismael Leyva Architects and developed by Lalezarian Properties, which purchased the property in 2010 for $4 million, the property will yield 59,323 square feet and 61 apartments. The project features a dramatic cantilever over an old low-rise structure.
The Brooklyn Public Library recently celebrated a grand opening for the Greenpoint Library and Environmental Education Center in north Brooklyn. Located at 107 Norman Avenue in Greenpoint, the center includes a new library, a public plaza, science learning centers for students, and flexible congregation spaces.
Permits have been filed for an eight-story mixed-use building at 1281 Hoe Avenue in Crotona Park East, The Bronx. Located between Freeman Street and Jennings Street, the lot is less than one block north of the Freeman Street subway station, serviced by the 2 and 5 trains. Mark Shakarov under the 1281 Hoe Avenue LLC is listed as the owner behind the applications.
Construction is nearing topping out at 550 Washington Street, Google’s 1.3 million-square-foot office in Hudson Square. Designed by COOKFOX Architects and developed by Oxford Properties, the facility will join two other nearby structures at 315 Hudson Street and 345 Hudson Street to form a 1.7 million-square-foot hub dubbed the “Googleplex.” The site is bound by West Street, West Houston Street, Washington Street, and the New York Department of Sanitation offices.
Construction has topped out at 145 Perry Street, a four-story, 30,000-square-foot mega mansion in the West Village. Alternately addressed as 703-711 Washington Street, the project is designed by Leroy Street Studio with Robert Silman Associates Structural Engineers and includes an abutting six-story, five-unit apartment building to the north along Greenwich Street.
