Governor Cuomo Announces Redevelopment Plans for Kingsboro Psychiatric Center Campus in East Flatbush, Brooklyn

This week, Governor Cuomo announced a $400 million plan to redevelop 7.2 acres of the Kingsboro Psychiatric Center campus in East Flatbush, Brooklyn. When complete, the medical campus will also include 900 affordable homes, public outdoor spaces, a full-sized basketball court, urban farms, a greenhouse, and dedicated space for community programming.

Borough President Eric Adams Rejects Proposals for 840 Atlantic Avenue in Prospect Heights, Brooklyn

Brooklyn Borough President Eric Adams rejected proposals to rezone a large assemblage of lots that would have supported a new 18-story mixed-use property in Prospect Heights. The proposed development site is located at 840 Atlantic Avenue and was projected to yield 300 rental apartments including up to 95 affordable housing units, 51,000 square feet of lower-level retail, and a 7,490-square-foot dance studio.

Final Steel Beam Placed Atop Ronald O. Perelman Performing Arts Center in Financial District, Manhattan

At a ceremony on June 23, the final steel beam for the Ronald O. Perelman Performing Arts Center was signed and lifted into place atop the Financial District structure. Designed by REX with Davis Brody Bond Architects as the executive architect and developed by an independent non-profit company called The Perelman, the cubic performance building stands 138 feet tall at the northern end of the original 16-acre World Trade Center complex, bound by Greenwich Street to the east, Vesey Street to the north, Fulton Street to the south, and Skidmore Owings & Merrill‘s One World Trade Center to the west.
