The project will bring commercial, residential, and community facilities to the neighborhood.
Permits have been filed for a seven-story mixed-use development at 38 West 8th Street, one block away from Washington Square Park. The site is off the beaten path for Greenwich Village, and the extant structure is not of noteworthy or particular beauty. Despite this, the odds are high this project will attract undeserved criticism from local rent-gouging homeowners fearful of any increase in neighborhood housing supply. Joseph Straus of the Straus Group is listed as responsible for the development.
Permits have been filed for an eight-story mixed-use development at 448 East 143rd Street in Mott Haven, The Bronx. The site is six blocks away from the Brook Avenue subway station, serviced by the 6 trains. Seven blocks away is the Third Avenue subway station, serviced by the 2 and 5 trains. Manhattan-based non-profit Breaking Ground will be responsible for the development.
Construction has restarted on a nine-story mixed-use structure in Flushing, Queens. Renderings of 146-10 35th Avenue, the development’s official address, have also been revealed to YIMBY as the project once again moves forward.

The site is six blocks away from the Flushing Main Street subway station, end of the line for the 7 trains, and a large commercial center in its own right. China-based Yihai Property will be responsible for the development.
