Environmental Review Process Begins For 240 Nassau Street in Downtown Brooklyn

The environmental review process has kicked off for 240 Nassau Street, a three-building mixed-use complex along the northern border of Downtown Brooklyn. Designed and developed in a partnership between Alloy Development, the NYC Educational Construction Fund (ECF), and GFB Development, the project will give rise two skyscrapers yielding a total of 1,505 mixed-income units, including 305 affordable apartments and 95 for senior housing. The development will also include a 120,000-square-foot public school, 42,000 square feet of community and cultural space, and 28,000 square feet of retail.

Plans Approved For Herkimer-WIlliams Affordable Housing Complex in East New York, Brooklyn

The City Council has announced a Uniform Land Use Review Procedure (ULURP) approval for Herkimer-Williams, a four-building affordable housing complex in East New York, Brooklyn. Designed by WXY Studio and developed by Totem, the 345-foot-tall project will yield nearly 1,000 affordable homes. The development will also include 440,000 square feet of commercial space, 114,000 square feet of retail, 100,000 square feet of industrial space, 85,000 square feet for community facilities, and 25,000 square feet of publicly accessible open space.

19–19 Cornaga Avenue Tops Out In Far Rockaway, Queens

Construction has topped out on 19–19 Cornaga Avenue, a nine-story affordable housing project in Far Rockaway, Queens. Designed by Paul Castrucci Architects and developed by PMG Affordable and Brisa Builders Development LLC, the as-of-right project will yield 60 supportive housing units for young adults aging out of foster care and families in need. The project will also include 30 Federal Housing Trust units. The property is located in the Downtown Far Rockaway Special Purpose District between Beach 19th and 20th Streets.

New Renderings Revealed for Hudson Mosaic At 388 Hudson Street in Hudson Square, Manhattan

New renderings were recently unveiled for Hudson Mosaic, a proposed 35-story residential building at 388 Hudson Street in Hudson Square, Manhattan. Designed by Herzog & de Meuron and Curtis + Ginsberg Architects, and developed in a collaboration between Camber Property Group, Services for the UnderServed (S:US), and Essence Development, the 335-foot-tall structure will yield 280 affordable homes. The project will also include a new recreational center owned and operated by the Parks Department, as well as a public plaza. The nearly 14,000-square-foot property is located between Clarkson and West Houston Streets.
