Six-Story, Mixed-Use Building With 16-Key Hotel Planned at 267 58th Street, Sunset Park

An anonymous Brooklyn-based LLC has filed applications for a six-story mixed-use building at 267 58th Street, in western Sunset Park. The project will measure 9,020 square feet and feature 3,031 square feet of space for a community facility on the ground and second floors, followed by a 5,989-square-foot, 16-key hotel on the third through sixth floors. The cellar will host the hotel’s office space. Brooklyn-based City Building NY Architect is the architect of record. The 30-foot-wide, 3,005-square-foot plot is vacant.


587 Main Street

Work Begins on 28-Story, 280-Unit Mixed-Use Redevelopment at 587 Main Street, New Rochelle

A groundbreaking ceremony has been held for the 28-story, 280-unit mixed-use tower under development at 587 Main Street, in downtown New Rochelle, in southern Westchester County. The project is a redevelopment of the abandoned two-story Loew’s Theater, Westfair reported. The theater’s façade will be preserved and restored, while the performance space will be converted into a 10,000-square-foot black box theater. In addition, the base will include 17,000 square feet of commercial space and a 234-car parking garage. The residential units in the tower will be rentals. RXR Realty, Brause Realty, and ABS Partners Real Estate are the developers. Paulus, Sokolowski and Sartor (PS&S) is the architect and completion is expected in late 2018.


127 East 107th Street

City Council Approves 15-Story, 400-Unit Affordable Mixed-Use Project at 127 East 107th Street, East Harlem

The City Council has voted to approve a 15-story, 400-unit mixed-use development planned at 127 East 107th Street, located on the southern end of East Harlem. The vote essentially represents the completion of the city’s Uniform Land Use Review Procedure (ULURP) for the project, which awaits Mayor Bill de Blasio’s signature. The project, dubbed Lexington Gardens II, will encompass 411,725 square feet and will be built on much of the block bound by East 107th and 108th streets and Park and Lexington avenues.


161-09 72nd Avenue

Four-Story, Seven-Unit Mixed-Use Project Planned at 161-09 72nd Avenue, Pomonok

A Queens-based property owner has filed applications for a four-story, seven-unit mixed-use building at 161-09 72nd Avenue, in Pomonok, Queens. The project will measure 9,487 square feet and will feature a 1,573 -square-foot community center on the ground floor. The residential units across the rest of the building, which includes an upper penthouse level, should average 769 square feet apiece, indicative of rental apartments. Bayside-based ABC Engineering is the applicant of record. The 26-foot-wide, 2,470-square-foot lot is occupied by a two-story house. Demolition permits have not been filed.

Memorial Sloan Kettering’s David H. Koch Center for Cancer Care Reaches 12 Stories at 530 East 74th Street, Upper East Side

Construction is now underway on the 12th floor of Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center’s 22-story, 750,000-square-foot David H. Koch Center for Cancer Care facility at 530 East 74th Street, located on the corner of the FDR Drive on the Upper East Side. Progress on the project can be seen thanks to photos posted to the YIMBY Forums. At 524 East 74th Street, work still appears to be ongoing below-grade where a 16-story, 403,000-square-foot academic facility is underway for the City University of New York and the Hunter College School of Nursing. The buildings, which will stand 447 feet and 341 feet to their pinnacles, respectively, are designed by Perkins Eastman and Ennead Architects. Completion is expected in 2019.
