Foundation Work Progresses at 1491-1493 First Avenue on Manhattan’s Upper East Side

Foundation work is progressing at 1491-1493 First Avenue, the site of a 35-story residential building on Manhattan’s Upper East Side. Designed by Hill West Architects and developed by Carmel Partners, which purchased the property for $73.5 million in early 2022 from local developer Robert Chou, the 404-foot-tall structure will yield 206 condominium units, 7,120 square feet of ground-floor retail space, and a cellar level. CP VII 78th Street Owner is the owner and Carmel Construction East is the general contractor for the project, which is located at the southwestern corner of First Avenue and East 78th Street.

Feasibility Study Underway for Flatbush Tower at 399-401 Flatbush Avenue in Prospect Heights, Brooklyn

A feasibility study has been commissioned for Flatbush Tower, a 12-story residential building which would potentially be located at 399-401 Flatbush Avenue near Grand Army Plaza in Prospect Heights. OPerA Studio was tasked to evaluate the potential for developing the site, which presently houses a small commercial building and a four-story residential structure.

New Permits Filed for 4 East 49th Street in Midtown East, Manhattan

New permits have been filed to convert a 14-story structure into a 31-story mixed-use building at 4 East 49th Street in Midtown East, Manhattan. Situated between Fifth Avenue and Madison Avenue, the interior lot is within walking distance of the 47-50 Streets-Rockefeller Center subway station, serviced by the B, D, F, and M trains. Rudolf Abramov of RJ Capital Holdings is listed as the owner behind the applications. Previous permits detailed a 29-story tower with 76 units.

250 East 83rd Street’s Façade Nears Completion on Manhattan’s Upper East Side

Designed by SLCE Architects and developed by The Torkian Group, the 370-foot-tall structure will yield 128 residential units with interiors by Lemay_id, as well as ground-floor retail space. Cauldwell Wingate Company is the general contractor for the property, which is located at the corner of Second Avenue and East 83rd Street.

Aloft Hotel’s Glass Façade Nears Completion at 450 Eleventh Avenue in Hudson Yards, Manhattan

Designed by DSM Design Group and developed by Marx Development Group, the 642-foot-tall structure will house a 379-room Aloft Hotel along with guest amenities such as a business center, a ballroom, and a fourth-floor restaurant with a bar and outdoor terrace. Custom Metalcrafters supplied the curtain wall and Atria Builders is the general contractor for the project, which is located at the corner of West 37th Street and Eleventh Avenue, directly across from the Jacob K. Javits Center.
