RFP Begins For 388 Hudson Street In Manhattan’s West Village

New York City has officially started the Request for Proposals (RFP) process for 388 Hudson Street, a new affordable housing project planned for Manhattan’s West Village. Announced by Mayor Eric Adams as part of his “Manhattan Plan,” the project aims to transform an underutilized site into a mixed-use development featuring hundreds of affordable housing units and a 45,000-square-foot recreation center with an indoor pool, gymnasium, and other wellness facilities. The property is currently owned by the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) and will require rezoning to allow for residential use. The site is located between Clarkson and West Houston Streets.

RFP Process Opens For Grand Concourse Library Redevelopment in Claremont, The Bronx

New York City has officially opened the request for proposal process for the redevelopment of the Grand Concourse Library at 155 East 173rd Street in Claremont, The Bronx. Mayor Eric Adams, along with the Department of Housing Preservation and Development (HPD) and the New York Public Library (NYPL), announced the RFP jointly. The project will remodel the library into a modern facility while adding 100 percent affordable housing, reinforcing the Adams administration’s “City of Yes for Families” initiative to make New York City more livable for families.

Construction is nearing completion on 311 Eastern Parkway, an eight-story residential building in Crown Heights, Brooklyn. Developed by Brooklyn-based Harpia, 75-foot-tall, all-electric building will yield five condominium units. Exterior work is nearly finished and interior construction is well underway at the property, which is located between Franklin and Classon Avenues.

New York City Achieves Back-To-Back Record-Setting Years For Affordable Housing Creation

New York City has set a new record for affordable housing creation for the second consecutive year. Mayor Eric Adams announced that in 2024, the city built the highest number of units for formerly homeless individuals (4,623), supportive housing (2,761), and senior housing (2,966) in its history. The city also closed financing for 27,620 affordable homes and facilitated nearly 14,654 households moving into affordable units.
