Construction is nearing completion on Vandewater, a 33-story, 385-foot-tall residential tower in Morningside Heights. Located at 543 West 122nd Street, the project is designed by INC Architecture & Design and being developed by Savanna. SLCE Architects is the executive architect, Michael Van Valkenburgh Associates, Inc. is the landscape architect, and Halstead Development Marketing is handling sales for the 183 condominiums.

City Planning Commission Approves Plans to Expand Lenox Terrace in Harlem

The Olnick Organization has received approvals from the City Planning Commission to construct five new towers within the Lenox Terrace housing complex in Central Harlem. The Commission voted 11-1, with one abstention, in support of the project following drastic revisions to the original proposals.

Workers are installing the final sections of Brynne Brownstone and Indiana Limestone on Beckford House, located at 301 East 81st Street, also addressed as 1562 Second Avenue, and Beckford Tower at 301 East 80th Street. The project is designed by Studio Sofield and SLCE Architects and is being developed by Icon Realty Management. CM & Associates is in charge of construction management.

Jewish Theological Seminary Expansion Readies for March 22 Opening in Morningside Heights

Work on the Jewish Theological Seminary‘s expansion is nearing completion in Morningside Heights. The brick exterior of the seven-story superstructure is finished, while the interiors are likely in the final stages as well. Tod Williams Billie Tsien Architects is the designer of the new facility, which will debut in an opening ceremony on March 22, 2020. MNLA is the landscape architect.

Excavation is well underway at 2750-2754 Frederick Douglass Boulevard in Harlem, where Haussmann Development will eventually launch a pair of new buildings. Designed by Nicholas Kazalas of NDKazalas Architecture, the structures will function more like two connected wings and contain a mix of rental apartments, commercial tenants, and community facilities.

Façade Work for 180 East 88th Street Nears Completion on the Upper East Side

Exterior work is nearing completion at 180 East 88th Street, the tallest structure on the Upper East Side above 72nd Street. DDG is the designer and principal developer of the 31-story residential skyscraper, for which HTO Architects is serving as the architect of record and Global Holdings Management is also developing. Petersen Tegl, a Denmark-based firm, is in charge of putting together the thin Kolumba masonry bricks in the gray-colored façade.

Exterior work is wrapping up on the Moise Safra Cultural Center, a 14-story mixed-use structure at 130 East 82nd Street on the Upper East Side.
