Façade Installation Progresses on The Hospital For Special Surgery’s Expansion on Manhattan’s Upper East Side

Curtain wall installation is progressing on The Anna-Maria and Stephen Kellen Tower, a 12-story waterfront expansion of the Hospital For Special Surgery at 535 East 70th Street in the Lenox Hill section of Manhattan’s Upper East Side. Designed by EwingCole, the $200 million addition will span 100,000 square feet directly over FDR Drive and connect the main hospital wing to the south via a sky bridge. Tishman Construction Corp. is the general contractor for the property, which is located between East 71st and 72nd Streets.

1522 First Avenue Stands Topped Out On Manhattan’s Upper East Side

Construction is closing in on the parapet of 1522 First Avenue, a 30-story medical office building in the Yorkville section of Manhattan’s Upper East Side. Designed by Perkins Eastman and developed by Extell, the 449-foot-tall structure will yield 400,000 square feet of Class A office space and retail space on the ground floor and cellar levels. The Hospital for Special Surgery will serve as the anchor tenant, occupying 200,000 square feet across the first eight stories of the building. The property is alternately addressed as 403 East 79th Street and located between East 79th and 80th Streets.

This move marks the relocation of Ekimetrics’ sole US office from 155 West 23rd Street to the historic skyscraper’s 29th floor.

Avison Young recently arranged a new 10-year lease at 220 West 19th Street in Chelsea, Manhattan, on behalf of landlord Red Circle NY Corp. The lease will be a relocation for The Corcoran Group’s Chelsea office from its current location at 218 West 18th Street. The 9,200-square-foot lease will span the entire fifth floor of the boutique owner-occupied office building. The space is fully built, furnished, and wired.

Updated Design Revealed for 350 Park Avenue Supertall in Midtown East, Manhattan

New renderings have been revealed for 350 Park Avenue, a proposed supertall office skyscraper in Midtown East, Manhattan. Designed by Norman Foster of Foster + Partners and developed by Ken Griffin, Vornado Realty Trust and Rudin, the 62-story structure is planned to rise roughly 1,600 feet tall and yield 1.8 million square feet of office space, with 54 percent to be occupied by the hedge fund Citadel LLC. The project site is bound by East 52nd Street to the north, East 51st Street to the south, and Park Avenue to the east.

L&L Holding Company Secures Refinancing For 425 Park Avenue In Midtown East, Manhattan

L&L Holding Company has secured $911 million in refinancing for 425 Park Avenue, an office skyscraper in Midtown East, Manhattan. Sumitomo Mitsui Trust Bank led the refinancing as the principal lender, with the new five-year floating rate loan intended to replace a similar-sized loan from 2021 that supported the tower’s final construction and leasing activities.
