Two Four-Story, 60-Key Hotels Filed at 268 Williams Avenue, East New York

An anonymous Rosyln, N.Y.-based LLC has filed applications for two four-story, 60-key hotels at 268-272 Williams Avenue, on the western end of East New York. The buildings will measure 25,399 square feet each. Across both, hotel rooms should average 250 square feet apiece and will be located across the cellar through fourth floors. Manish Savani’s Jamaica-based firm is the architect of record. The 15,000-square-foot property is vacant.

Revealed: Five-Story, 289-Key Dual-Brand Hotel Planned at 36-20 Steinway Street, Long Island City

A rendering has been revealed of the five-story, 289-key dual-branded hotel at 36-20 Steinway Street, located on the corner of Northern Boulevard in the Dutch Kills section of Long Island City. The project will feature a 102-key Homewood Suites and a 187-key Hampton Inn, DNAinfo reported. Both brands are owned by Hilton Hotels & Resorts.

30-Story, 298-Room Hotel Grows at 143 Fulton Street, Financial District

When YIMBY last reported on the 30-story hotel under development at 143 Fulton Street, in August of 2016, foundation work was underway. Now, the new Financial District lodging has something to show for itself.

On Monday, New York City had 117 interior landmarks. Now, it has 118. On Tuesday, the Landmarks Preservation Commission voted to designate portions of the hotel now known as ONE UN New York, at 1 and 2 United Nations Plaza, as interior landmarks.

250-Key Westin Hotel Planned at 13-Story Mixed-Use Project at 137-61 Northern Boulevard, Flushing

Late last year, Century Development Group signed an agreement with Starwood Hotels & Resorts to bring a 250-key Westin hotel to the mixed-use project planned at 137-61 Northern Boulevard, located on the corner of Leavitt Street in downtown Flushing. Century told The Real Deal that the latest development plans call for a 12- or 13-story building, which, in addition to the hotel, would also include 50 residential units.

Revealed: 68-Key Hotel at 105 North 13th Street, Williamsburg

North Williamsburg’s industrial zone has become a forest of high-end hotels, from the Wythe Hotel, a converted, turn-of-the-century factory, to the futuristic William Vale, which opened in September. Now YIMBY has a rendering of a hotel headed to 105 North 13th Street, between Wythe and Berry Streets near McCarren Park.

27-Story, 299-Key Hotel Building Filed at 30 West 39th Street, Midtown South

Fortuna Realty Group has filed applications for a 27-story, 299-key hotel at 30 West 39th Street, in Midtown South. The project will encompass 133,523 square feet and rise 323 feet to its roof. A restaurant and an outdoor bar will be located on the ground and second floors, followed by hotel rooms across the fourth through 26th floors. Nobutaka Ashihara’s Financial District-based firm is the architect of record. The 8,662-square-foot assemblage, at 24-30 West 39th Street, is occupied by four four-story commercial buildings. Demolition permits were filed last year.

Permits Filed for 42-Story, Mixed-Use Tower at 265 Broadway, Financial District

Another sky-scraping residential tower is headed for the blocks near City Hall. Roe Corporation filed plans yesterday for a 42-story, mixed-use building at 265 Broadway, across from City Hall Park between Warren and Chambers streets.

27-Story, 97-Key Pestana Hotel Planned at 23 East 39th Street, Midtown East

The Pestana Hotel Group has purchased, for $16 million, a 99-year ground-lease for the 2,469-square-foot vacant lot at 23 East 39th Street, in Midtown East. The hotelier is planning to develop a 27-story, 97-key hotel at the site, Commercial Observer reported. Building permits, approved by the Department of Buildings in December 2015, are currently on file for a 27-story, 96-key structure, which YIMBY reported on in 2014. The plans indicate the tower will encompass 39,964 square feet and rise 273 feet to its pinnacle. Gene Kaufman’s SoHo-based architecture firm is behind the plans, although it wasn’t stated if Pestana will move forward with the same design. Arbalest Capital Corp. is the property owner. The site was home to a five-story building until March 2016, when it was demolished.

Nine-Story, 88-Key Hotel Filed at 42-59 Crescent Street, Long Island City

Royal One Real Estate has filed applications for a nine-story, 88-key hotel at 42-59 Crescent Street, located on the corner of 43rd Avenue in Long Island City’s Queens Plaza/Court Square sections. The project will encompass 38,540 square feet. It will feature a slew of amenities, including laundry facilities, a business center with meeting rooms, a lounge, a bar/restaurant in the cellar, a café, and outdoor terraces on the ground and rooftop levels. Gwo-Shenq Wey’s Forest Hills-based architecture firm is the architect of record. The developer plans to acquire a variance from the Board of Standards and Appeals, DNAinfo reported. The 4,416-square-foot lot is vacant.
