At number 22 on our year-end countdown is 450 Eleventh Avenue, a topped-out 642-foot-tall Aloft Hotel in Hudson Yards. Designed by DSM Design Group and developed by Marx Development Group, the slender 51-story reinforced concrete skyscraper will yield 379 guest rooms as well as a business center, a ballroom, and a fourth-floor restaurant and bar with an outdoor terrace overlooking the growing neighborhood. Atria Builders LLC is the general contractor for the Midtown, Manhattan property, which is located at the corner of West 37th Street and Eleventh Avenue, directly across from the Jacob K. Javits Center. The total construction cost is expected to be around $368 million.

Construction is progressing on an 11-story Moxy Hotel at 353 Bedford Avenue in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. The topped-out reinforced concrete structure is being built by Leeding Builders Group, LLC, designed by Stonehill & Taylor Architects, and developed by The Lightstone Group and Marriott. The edifice will yield a total of 216 hotel rooms with interiors designed by Basile Studios. 353 Bedford Avenue is located between 4th and 5th Streets and is a short walk to the East River waterfront and the Domino Park esplanade.

At number 28 on YIMBY’s annual construction countdown is the Ritz-Carlton Hotel and Residences, a 580-foot-tall skyscraper at 1185 Broadway in the Midtown, Manhattan neighborhood of NoMad. Designed by Rafael Vinoly and developed by MarriottRitz Carlton Hotels, and Flag Luxury Properties, the 45-story tower will yield 250 guest rooms spread across 150,000 square feet, as well as 16 one- and two-bedroom penthouse residences perched on the upper levels. Lendlease is the general contractor for the project, which is located at the corner of Broadway and West 28th Street. The Erin Boisson Aries team at Christie’s International Real Estate is handling the sales of the penthouses.

Designed by PBDW ArchitectsMancini Duffy, and Perkins Eastman and developed by L&L Holding CompanyMaefield Development, and Fortress Investment Group, the 470-foot-tall structure will yield 550,000 square feet at the corner of Seventh Avenue and West 47th Street. The project involved the nearly full demolition of the former DoubleTree Suites by Hilton and the full restoration and 30-foot lifting of Kirchoff & Rose’s 1,700-seat, 108-year-old Palace Theater. Pavarini McGovern is in charge of construction for the property, which will feature ten floors of retail space and is slated to cost around $2.5 billion with a capacity to serve 15 million annual visitors.

Designed by Stonehill & Taylor Architects and developed by Solil Management, the 135-foot-tall structure will yield 44,000 square feet with 70 guest rooms operated by Firmdale Hotels, a restaurant, a drawing room, an orangery, a bar, and a private event space. Pavarini McGovern, LLC is the general contractor, Kit Kemp is the interior designer, and Paul Taylor under the Warren Street Hotel LLC is the owner behind the previously filed permit applications for the project, which is located between Greenwich Street and West Broadway.
