Topped-Out 450 Eleventh Avenue Begins Glass Curtain Wall Installation in Hudson Yards, Manhattan

Construction has topped out on 450 Eleventh Avenue, a 51-story Aloft Hotel in Hudson Yards. Designed by DSM Design Group and developed by Marx Development Group, the 642-foot-tall skyscraper will yield 379 guest rooms as well as a business center, a ballroom, and a fourth-floor restaurant and bar with an outdoor terrace. Atria Builders LLC is the general contractor for the Midtown, Manhattan property, which is located at the corner of West 37th Street and Eleventh Avenue, directly across from the Jacob K. Javits Center. Construction is expected to cost around $368 million.

Construction at 317-319 West 35th Street Goes Vertical in Midtown, Manhattan

Construction is rising at 317-319 West 35th Street, a 25-story hotel in Midtown’s Garment District. Designed by Peter Poon Architects and developed by Wei Hong Hu under the H Hotel LLC, the 249-foot-tall reinforced concrete structure was last reported to span 59,250 square feet with 166 hotel rooms. The property will also contain 3,399 square feet of commercial space and feature a cellar, sub-cellar, and a basement. Crosscity Construction Corporation is the general contractor for the development, which is located between Eighth and Ninth Avenues.

30 West 39th Street’s Façade Installation Nears Completion in Midtown, Manhattan

Work is nearing completion on 30 West 39th Street, 27-story hotel tower in Midtown, Manhattan. Designed by Peter Poon Architects and developed by Fortuna Realty, the 323-foot-tall structure will yield 133,500 square feet and 330 rooms. Leeding Builders Group, LLC is the general contractor for the property, which is located between Fifth and Sixth Avenues, a block south of Bryant Park.

Permits Filed for 131-24 40th Road in Flushing, Queens

Permits have been filed for an 11-story hotel building at 131-24 40th Road in Flushing, Queens. Located between College Point Boulevard and Flushing Creek, the lot is near the Main Street subway station, serviced by the 7 train. Betsy Mak under the Success 83 LLC is listed as the owner behind the applications.

Fifth Avenue Hotel Progresses at 250 Fifth Avenue in NoMad, Manhattan

Façade work is continuing to progress on The Fifth Avenue Hotel at 250 Fifth Avenue in NoMad. Designed by Perkins Eastman, PBDW Architects, and Martin Brudnizki Design Studio and developed by Flaneur Hospitality, the project involves the construction of a 230-foot-tall, 24-story reinforced concrete tower and the renovation and hotel conversion of a 116-year-old McKim, Mead & White-designed building. CNY Group is the general contractor for the project, which is being built at the corner of Fifth Avenue and West 28th Street.

132 West 28th Street’s Façade Installation Progresses in Chelsea, Manhattan

Façade work continues on the Chelsea Aloft Hotel, a 32-story tower at 132 West 28th Street. Designed by Peter Poon Architects and developed by Frank Ng, the 326-foot-tall reinforced concrete structure will yield 203 guest rooms. Milestone Construction Corporation is the general contractor for the project, which is located between Sixth and Seventh Avenues in the Flower District.

Virgin Hotel Nears Completion at 1225 Broadway in NoMad, Manhattan

Construction is wrapping up on the Virgin Hotel, a 38-story tower at 1225 Broadway in NoMad. Designed by Stantec and developed by Lam Group, the 476-foot-tall, 300,000-square-foot structure will yield 460 hotel rooms managed by Sir Richard Branson of Virgin Group. Flintlock Construction Systems, LLC is the general contractor for the building, which is bound by Broadway, West 29th Street, and West 30th Street.

Ritz-Carlton Hotel and Residences Nears Completion at 1185 Broadway in Nomad, Manhattan

Construction is nearing completion on the Ritz -Carlton Hotel and Residences, a 45-story skyscraper at 1185 Broadway in NoMad. Designed by Rafael Vinoly and developed by Marriott, Ritz Carlton Hotels, and Flag Luxury Properties, the 580-foot-tall tower will yield 250 guest rooms spread across 150,000 square feet, as well as a collection of 16 one- and two-bedroom penthouse residences on the upper levels. Lendlease is the general contractor for the project, which is located at the corner of Broadway and West 28th Street. The Erin Boisson Aries team at Christie’s International Real Estate is handling the sales of the penthouse residences.

Permits Filed for a Two-Tower Development at 495 11th Avenue in Midtown West, Manhattan

Permits have been filed for 495 Eleventh Avenue, a pair of mixed-use residential skyscrapers atop of a five-story podium in Midtown West, Manhattan. Located between West 39th and 40th Streets, the two towers will stand 680 feet tall and 57 stories, and 653 feet tall and 56 stories. NYC Economic Development Corporation is listed as the owner behind the applications.

Dual-Brand Marriott Wraps Construction at 140 West 28th Street in Chelsea, Manhattan

Work is wrapping up on 140 West 28th Street, a 46-story dual-brand Marriott Hotel tower in Chelsea. Designed by Gene Kaufman Architect and developed by Sam Chang of the McSam Hotel Group, the 470-foot-tall tower will yield 531 guest rooms split between Springhill Suites by Marriott and Townplace Suites by Marriott Properties. Omnibuild is the general contractor for the 173,000-square-foot reinforced concrete edifice, which is located between Sixth and Seventh Avenues in the Flower District.
