New hotel developments in Williamsburg have tended to cluster along the northern edge of the neighborhood in recent years, but one project will soon get underway at 626 Driggs Avenue, on the corner of North 3rd Street, for which YIMBY now has a fresh set of renderings. SK Development and CBSK Ironstate are developing, and Garrison Architects is designing the building.
The concrete superstructure is taking shape for the futuristic William Vale hotel at 55 Wythe Avenue in Williamsburg, and it already looks as interesting as the rendering released last year.
The Real Deal has the latest on Fortuna Realty Group’s planned 27-story, 180-key boutique hotel to span 25-27 West 38th Street, in Midtown South. Starwood Hotels & Resorts is co-developing with Fortuna, and The Aloft New York Midtown is expected to open for business in October 2017; Nobutaka Ashihara Architects and VLDG are designing. The existing five- and eight-story buildings passed pre-demolition inspection in late April.
A few weeks ago, YIMBY revealed the SBJ-designed 13-story, 199-key hotel planned for 9-03 44th Road, in Long Island City, and now The Court Square Blog reports demolition of the existing single-story warehouse is about to begin, with fencing now rising outside the old structure. No completion date has been formally announced.
