Virgin Hotel’s Glass Curtain Wall Rising Quickly at 1225 Broadway in NoMad

Work on Virgin Hotel‘s reflective glass curtain wall is making quick progress at 1225 Broadway in NoMad. Designed by Stantec, the 476-foot-tall superstructure topped out in February, and over the past months the envelope has climbed closer to the building’s pinnacle. The tower will feature 300,000 square feet of newly built space, of which most will be occupied by its 460 hotel rooms. The lower podium floors will contain 90,000 square feet of retail. Lam Group is the developer of the property, and Sir Richard Branson of Virgin Group will be in charge of managing the hotel.

Rose Hill’s Art Deco-Inspired Façade Installation Begins at 30 East 29th Street in NoMad

Installation of the dark-colored curtain wall panels has begun at Rose Hill, aka 30 East 29th Street, in NoMad. The Art Deco-inspired envelope now covers the podium and first residential floors of the future 45-story skyscraper, which is located between Madison Avenue and Park Avenue South. Designed by CetraRuddy Architecture and developed by Rockefeller Group, the tower will stand 639 feet tall and become one of the most prominent structures in the neighborhood. CORE is managing sales and the marketing of the units.

No. 33 Park Row’s Steel Façade Approaches Completion in the Financial District

Work on No.33 Park Row, aka “Pearl on the Park,” has been making steady progress in the Financial District. Most of the floor-to-ceiling glass panels are now in place, with dark-colored steel frames enhancing the visual appearance. The 25-story apartment building is being designed by Rogers Stirk Harbour + Partners while Centurion Real Estate Partners is collaborating with Urban Muse to develop the corner site. The 331-foot-tall tower will contain 31 units.

Curtain Wall Rising Rapidly on COOKFOX’s 25 Park Row in the Financial District

Work is charging toward the finish line at 25 Park Row, a 50-story residential skyscraper that has topped out over the Financial District. The curtain wall is rapidly rising and closing in on the nearly completed crown. The project is being designed by COOKFOX Architects and developed by L+M Development Partners. Sales for the 110 residences have already launched and are being handled and marketed by Corcoran Sunshine Marketing Group.

Excavation Continues for SHoP’s Supertall at 9 DeKalb Avenue in Downtown Brooklyn

Excavation is progressing at 9 DeKalb Avenue in Downtown Brooklyn, the site of the borough’s first supertall. The 1,066-foot-tall tower is designed by SHoP Architects and developed by JDS, which secured $664 million in funding for the project several months ago from Otéra Capital Inc. and Silverstein Capital Partners. The 73-story residential tower  will eventually become the tallest structure in Brooklyn, as well as the first tower in the outer boroughs to pass the 300-meter supertall threshold.
