Façade work is wrapping up on 1100 Avenue of the Americas, a 15-story office building at the corner of West 42nd Street and Sixth Avenue in Midtown, Manhattan. Designed by MdeAS Architects and developed by Brookfield Properties, the project involves a complete exterior overhaul as well as extensive renovations to the building’s 386,190-square-foot interiors. AECOM Tishman is the general contractor for the project, which is located across from the northern corner of Bryant Park and to the east of COOKFOX‘s One Bryant Park.

270 Park Avenue’s Demolition Wrapping Up as New Superstructure Rises in Midtown East, Manhattan

Demolition is nearly complete on the Union Carbide Building, JP Morgan Chase‘s former 52-story, 707-foot-tall headquarters at 270 Park Avenue in Midtown East, while the new steel superstructure for its 2.5 million-square-foot supertall replacement continues to rise on the opposite side of the full-block plot. The new 1,425-foot-tall skyscraper will eventually stand as one of the tallest structures in New York City on a parcel of land bound by Park Avenue to the east, Madison Avenue to the west, East 47th Street to the south, and East 48th Street to the north.

532 West 20th Street Wraps Up Construction Ahead of Spring Launch in Chelsea, Manhattan

Construction is wrapping up on 532 West 20th Street, an 11-story residential project in Chelsea. Designed and developed by Joe McMillan’s DDG, which purchased the site for $24.25 million in 2014, the 27,019-square-foot building will yield nine full-floor apartments averaging 3,000 square feet apiece, with sales handled by the Shemesh Team at Douglas Elliman. The one-story Anton Kern Gallery formerly occupied the parcel, which is located between Tenth and Eleventh Avenues.

Designed by ODA and developed by Adam America Real Estate and Northlink Capital, the property is located at the corner of West 91st Street and Broadway and will yield 57 units in one- to five-bedroom layouts ranging from 887 square feet to 3,524 square feet. Reuveni Real Estate is leading sales and marketing for the homes, which will cost between $1,625,000 to $11,250,000.

Elizabeth H. Berger Plaza Opens to the Public in Financial District, Manhattan

Work is complete on Elizabeth H. Berger Plaza in the Financial District, and the newly built park is now open to the public. Designed by landscape architect George Vellonakis, the project involved the reconfiguration of streets to create a more pedestrian-friendly plaza, and is named in honor of the late Downtown Alliance president Elizabeth Berger. The green space is bound by Greenwich Street to the west, Edgar Street to the north, and Trinity Place to the east.
