Margaritaville Resort Nears Completion at 560 Seventh Avenue in Times Square, Manhattan

Façade installation is nearing completion on the Margaritaville Resort New York at 560 Seventh Avenue in Times Square. Designed by Stonehill Taylor and developed by Sharif El-Gamal of Soho Properties along with MHP Real Estate Services, the 29-story, 375-foot-tall tower will yield 234 guest rooms with island-inspired interior designs. The project, which is located at the corner of Seventh Avenue and West 40th Street, is expected to cost around $300 million.

Façade Installation Resumes at 611 West 56th Street in Hell’s Kitchen, Manhattan

Façade installation has resumed at 611 West 56th Street, aka 823 Eleventh Avenue, a 450-foot-tall condominium tower in Hell’s Kitchen. Designed by Portuguese architect Alvaro Siza with SLCE as the architect of record, and developed by Sumaida + Khurana and LENY, the 37-story tower will yield 80 units designed by Gabellini Sheppard Associates.

One Essex Crossing Launches Sales On The Lower East Side of Manhattan

Today, One Essex Crossing is officially launching sales, and YIMBY has an exclusive reveal of a slew of renderings for the project, for which occupancy is anticipated later this year. Located on Manhattan’s Lower East Side, the 14-story full-block development is designed by CetraRuddy and developed by Delancey Street Associates, which is comprised of BFC Partners, L+M Development Partners, Taconic Partners, the Prusik Group, and Goldman Sachs Urban Investment Group. The site is bounded by Delancey Street to the north, Suffolk Street to the east, Broome Street to the south, and Norfolk Street to the west, and is one of several addresses in the Essex Crossing master plan that’s spread across six acres and a total of nine buildings. Corcoran Sunshine Marketing Group is handling sales for One Essex Crossing with prices ranging from $890,000 for a studio, to $6,689,000 for a duplex penthouse.

Demolition Progresses at 1841-1845 Broadway on Manhattan’s Upper West Side

Demolition is progressing at 1841 and 1845 Broadway on Manhattan’s Upper West Side, where a 24-story mixed-use building is planned to rise. The two adjacent properties are owned by Global Holdings Management Group, and Ancora Engineering is listed as the applicant of record on demolition permits that were filed in 2019. The site is bound by Broadway to the east and West 60th Street to the south, and sits just north of Columbus Circle and the southwestern corner entrance to Central Park.

Demolition Continues for TSX Broadway at 1568 Broadway in Times Square, Manhattan

Demolition work is continuing at 1568 Broadway in Times Square, where the 46-story, 470-foot-tall building now stands less than 20 stories high. Designed by PBDW Architects, Mancini Duffy, and Perkins Eastman and developed by L&L Holding Company, Maefield Development, and Fortress Investment Group, the project involves the partial demolition of the former DoubleTree Suites by Hilton and construction of a new 46-story, 550,000-square-foot hotel tower dubbed TSX Broadway, on its foundations. This also includes the preservation of the 108-year-old Palace Theater, which will be raised 30 feet to make room for ground-floor retail space. The site is located at the corner of Seventh Avenue and West 47th Street, directly across from the TKTS stairs.

Gene Kaufman’s 305 West 48th Street on Pace for 2021 Completion in Hell’s Kitchen, Manhattan

Construction is nearing completion on 305 West 48th Street, a 303-foot-tall hotel in Hell’s Kitchen, Manhattan. Designed by Gene Kaufman and developed by Bright Management with Rockwell Group as the interior designer, the 27-story building will yield 211 hotel rooms. The site is located at the corner of West 48th Street and Eighth Avenue, a short walk from Times Square and the Theater District.

RIU Hotel’s Curtain Wall Installation Continues at 145 West 47th Street in Times Square, Manhattan

Exterior work is shaping up at 145 West 47th Street, a 48-story RIU Hotel in Times Square. Designed by Berg + Moss Architects and developed by Tribeach Holdings, the 353,000-square-foot tower is located between Sixth and Seventh Avenues and will yield 630 rooms.

Construction Progresses on Irish Arts Center at 726 Eleventh Avenue in Hell’s Kitchen, Manhattan

Construction progresses on the Irish Arts Center, a five-story building at 726 Eleventh Avenue in Hell’s Kitchen. Designed by Davis Brody Bond and Ciaran O’Conner, the structure is located between West 51st and West 52nd Streets, just around the corner from its original three-story location at 553 West 51st Street.

Two-Building Complex ‘The Hive’ Reaches Completion at 300 West 43rd Street in Midtown, Manhattan

Work is now complete on The Hive, a two-building complex along Eighth Avenue between West 42nd Street and West 43rd Street in Midtown. Developed by KRW Realty Advisors and managed by Hive Management LLC, the property consists of a 13-story L-shaped building at 303 West 42nd Street, aka Hive 42, and a six-story structure at 300 West 43rd Street, aka Hive 43. Gertler & Wente Architects led the design of the renovated interiors, which include office space as well as ground-floor retail.

Twin Supertalls Revealed as Part of Garden City, Possible Relocation of Madison Square Garden, in Midtown Manhattan

Community Board Five’s Land Use, Housing & Zoning Committee voted in a meeting on Wednesday to advance plans for a massive undertaking in Midtown involving the conversion of Madison Square Garden into a new concourse for Penn Station, and the creation of a new home for the sports facility between two supertall skyscrapers near Herald Square. Initially proposed in 2016 by Vishaan Chakrabarti, founder of Practice for Architecture and Urbanism (PAU), new renderings give visual context to the plan, to which the city council agreed with the consideration of The Madison Square Garden Company’s acquisition of a shorter extension of its current lease.
