The last time YIMBY checked in on 42 Crosby Street, in SoHo, we reported on the reveal of the project’s renderings, back in September of 2014. Now, construction on the Selldorf Architects-designed building has wrapped, and the final result effectively manages a contextual merger of contemporary stylings with historic surrounds.
Back in early 2015, YIMBY revealed the first renderings for L&L Holding Company’s redevelopment of 380 Madison Avenue, on the corner of East 46th Street, which will be renamed 390 Madison Avenue upon re-opening. Over two and a half years later, construction of the reconfiguration has now topped-out at 32 floors.
After a few years of waiting, construction has finally begun on the second phase of Journal Squared, in Jersey City’s Journal Square neighborhood. Back in August, YIMBY interviewed Mayor Fulop who indicated progress on the site would be imminent, and now the latest photos from apophenic show that excavation has officially commenced on the tower. Designed by HWKN/Hollwich Kushner and Handel Architects, it will stand 72 floors and 759 feet to its rooftop.
The transition zone between East Harlem and the Upper East Side is booming with new developments, and just last week, YIMBY featured an update on 1399 Park Avenue, on the corner of East 104th Street, which is close to topping-out. Today, we have another update by Tectonic on 302 East 96th Street, several blocks to the southeast, where superstructure work is also close to completion.
The tallest of nine structures comprising the Essex Crossing development, at 115 Delancey Street, has officially topped-out. The last time YIMBY reported on the site, it had just risen above street level, back in late January. The 26-story building will include 195 rental apartments, of which 98 will be affordable. Its developer, Delancey Street Associates, is comprised of BFC Partners, L+M Development Partners, and Taconic Investment Partners.
