Permits Filed For 4720 Third Avenue in Belmont, The Bronx

Permits have been recently filed for a new nine-story mixed-use residential and commercial building at 4720 Third Avenue in Belmont, The Bronx. Ismael Leyva Architects is the designer of the nearly 190,500-square-foot project. Canas Solutions, Inc. is the filing representative while Cactus Holdings, Inc. is the owner of the 35,606-square-foot site. The project sits on a corner lot and is located south of Fordham University. It also sits very close to the Fordham Metro-North train station. The B and D train can be accessed at the Fordham Road subway station, which is only five minutes to the west.

Permits Filed For 2261 Watson Avenue in Unionport, The Bronx

Permits were filed for a new four-story apartment building at 2261 Watson Avenue in Unionport, The Bronx. The site is located across from Havemeyer Playground and sits near East 177th Street and the Cross Bronx Expressway. The closest subway station is Parkchester on the 6 train. There will be a total of eight dwellings within the 7,120-square-foot masonry structure. Each one will be just under 900 square feet, so they will most likely be rentals. The building will eventually rise 40 feet when completed.

YIMBY Scopes Rooftop Views From The XI With Bjarke Ingels At Topping-Out Ceremony

On the heels of the topping-out of The XI’s second tower, YIMBY attended the official ceremony for the milestone hosted by the project’s architect Bjarke Ingels, offering a first look at the sweeping views from the top of the complex. The 908,250-square-foot development stands next to the High Line in Chelsea and is now the tallest set of buildings in the neighborhood. The first 30-story skyscraper sitting closer to the Hudson River reached the 402-foot-tall roof parapet last year. The shorter 20-story, 300-foot-tall sibling climbed to its pinnacle just a couple weeks ago. HFZ Capital Group is the developer of the project. Omnibuild is in charge of constructing this new icon for New York City.

Permits have been filed for a nine-story mixed-use residential and commercial building at 13-28 Central Avenue in Far Rockaway, Queens. The 42,758-square foot lot is located at the intersection of Central Avenue and Nameoke Street. The proposed scope for the new project is around 195,000 square feet. The site is close to the Far Rockaway – Mott Avenue subway station at the end of the A line. Ericka Keller-Wala of Brisa MPB Community Square LLC is listed as the owner of the site. Paul Castrucci Architect is listed as the designer, while William Vitacco Associates, LTD filed the permits.

New Senior Housing Facility at 139 East 56th Street Tops Out in Midtown Manhattan

139 East 56th Street, aka 677-681 Lexington Avenue, recently topped out 17 stories above Midtown. Designed by SLCE Architects and developed by Hines and Welltower, the new senior-housing facility is called “Sunrise” and is located at the corner of East 56th Street and Lexington Avenue. Facade installation at ground level has also commenced. The two developers previously paid $115 million for the 9,236-square foot site. The tower now stands 218 feet to its rooftop.
