Construction is about to wrap up on 222 East Broadway, a 28-story residential tower on Manhattan’s Lower East Side. Designed by SLCE Architects and developed by Optimum Asset Management, the 84,271-square-foot structure will yield 70 units in studio to four-bedroom layouts with interiors by Paris Forino and an average scope of 1,397 square feet. Mark K Morrison is the landscape architect and Cantor Pecorella is handling sales and marketing for the property, which is located by the corner of East Broadway and Clinton Street.

Designed by BKSK Architects for Tavros Capital, the project involves the restoration of a row of a landmarked townhomes and the construction of a new office structure above. Broadway Construction is the general contractor for the property, which is alternately addressed as 351-355 West 14th Street and located at the intersection of West 14th Street and Ninth Avenue.

The Frick Collection’s Expansion Continues to Take Shape at 1 East 70th Street on Manhattan’s Upper East Side

Work is progressing on the renovation and expansion of The Frick Collection, an 88-year-old art museum at 1 East 70th Street on Manhattan’s Upper East Side. Designed by Annabelle Selldorf of Selldorf Architects with Beyer Blinder Belle as the architect of record, the $160 million project involves the construction of a seven-story extension that will increase the historic institution’s footprint by 18,000 square feet to 197,000 square feet, as well as the renovation of the existing structure that will improve its infrastructure and accessibility. Sciame Construction is the general contractor for the undertaking, which broke ground in May 2021 after gaining approval from the Landmarks Preservation Commission. The Frick Collection is bound by East 71st Street to the north, East 70th Street to the south, and Fifth Avenue and Central Park to the west.

Work is nearing completion on Gansevoort Peninsula Park, a new 5.5-acre public recreational green space along the Hudson River waterfront off the West Village. Designed by James Corner Field Operations and commissioned by the Hudson River Park Trust, the park will contain a full-size soccer field surrounded by lush landscaping and shrubbery, numerous pathways, stepped seating, a children’s playground, kayak slips, a salt marsh, a dog run, viewing platforms, and Manhattan’s first public sandy beach. The site is located next to Pier 53, directly across from the Whitney Museum of American Art along Hudson River Park.

JPMorgan Chase’s Headquarters Approaches Supertall Status at 270 Park Avenue in Midtown East, Manhattan

Construction is climbing higher on JPMorgan Chase‘s 1,388-foot supertall headquarters at 270 Park Avenue in Midtown East. Designed by Lord Norman Foster of Foster + Partners with Adamsom Associates as the architect of record and developed by Tishman Speyer, the 60-story skyscraper will yield 2.5 million square feet of office space with a capacity of 15,000 employees, and will become the tallest structure in New York completely powered by hydroelectric energy. JB&B is the MEP engineer and AECOM Tishman is the general contractor for the full-block property, which is bound by East 48th Street to the north, East 47th Street to the south, Park Avenue to the east, and Madison Avenue to the west.
