Renovation Work Underway on 125 Barclay Street in Tribeca, Manhattan

Renovation work is ramping up on 125 Barclay Street, a ten-story commercial building in Tribeca. Originally constructed in 1932 as the World Telegram Building, the 280,000-square-foot structure is undergoing an overhaul that involves the replacement of the brick envelope with a modern glass curtain wall, the full gutting of the interiors and restoration of the terracotta flooring, and the construction of an 11th story above the current parapet. Hunter Roberts Construction Group is the general contractor and Lilker Associates is the MEP and FP engineer for the property, which houses the offices for municipal employee union DC37 and is bound by Murray Street to the north, Barclay Street to the south, and West Street to the west.

Façade installation is progressing on the Warren Street Hotel, an 11-story building at 86 Warren Street in Tribeca. Designed by Paul Taylor with Stonehill Taylor and developed by Firmdale on a land lease from Solil Management, the 44,000-square-foot structure will yield 70 guest rooms operated by Firmdale Hotels as well as a restaurant, a drawing room, an orangery, a bar, and a private event space. Pavarini McGovern is the general contractor, and Kit Kemp is the interior designer of the property, which is located between Greenwich Street and West Broadway.

Ronald O. Perelman Performing Arts Center Nears Completion in the World Trade Center Complex

On the 21st anniversary of the 9/11 attacks, the final component of the rebuilt 16-acre World Trade Center site is coming to a close as work nears completion on the Ronald O. Perelman Performing Arts Center, a new performance hall in the Financial District. Designed by REX with Davis Brody Bond Architects as the executive architect and developed by The Perelman, the 138-foot-tall structure stands on a plot bound by Vesey Street to the north, Fulton Street to the south, Greenwich Street to the east, and Skidmore Owings & Merrill‘s One World Trade Center to the west.

Façade installation has begun on 282-286 Grand Street, a seven-story residential building on Manhattan’s Lower East Side. Developed by Marc Straus, who has owned the site since the 1970s, the 23,500-square-foot structure will yield 25 rental apartments spread across 22,500 square feet and 1,000 square feet of commercial space. First Standard Construction is the general contractor for the property, which is located between Forsyth and Eldridge Streets.

The Tin Building Opens at 96 South Street in the Seaport District

Jean-Georges Vongerichten’s newest food hall is now open to the public in the Tin Building, a historic three-story building at 96 South Street in the Seaport District. Designed by Roman & Williams and developed by The Howard Hughes Corporation, the 53,000-square-foot structure was dismantled from its original location along the East River and rebuilt 32 feet away, directly adjacent to the SHoP-designed Pier 17. The $200 million project features six full-service restaurants, six fast-casual counters, four bars, a grocery store, and private dining space, all spread across two floors. The property is located off Fulton Street to the east of South Street and the FDR Drive.
