Construction is now several floors above street level at 50 Trinity Place, a forthcoming Aloft Hotel in the Financial District. The project is designed by Peter Poon Architects and is being developed by FIT Investment Corporation, which purchased the property for $15 million eight years ago. Located at the intersection of Trinity Place and Rector Street, the site is located just to the north of 77 Greenwich Street.
Exterior work is getting close to completion at 125 Greenwich Street, the tallest residential skyscraper currently under construction in the Financial District. The 912-foot-tall, 88-story structure is designed by Rafael Vinoly and developed by Bizzi & Partners and Vector Group. Douglas Elliman is leading the sales and marketing for the building’s 273 residential units, which feature interiors designed by March & White. Plaza Construction is the general contractor for the project, which is located between Greenwich Street and Thames Street.
Work is now complete at 200 West 11th Street, a five-story residential building at the five-way intersection of West 11th Street, Seventh Avenue, and Greenwich Avenue in the West Village. The project is designed by SRA Architecture + Engineering and developed by The Jackson Group, which began leasing late last summer. Interior design was led by Ovadia Design Group and features contemporary material finishes, exposed concrete ceilings and structural beams, and large floor-to-ceiling windows. Jason Haber of Warburg Realty handled the property’s three rentals.
Work is moving along on 120 Water Street, a topped-out, 28-story project from Gene Kaufman Architects and Atlas Hospitality in the Financial District. The 52,000-square-foot building will contain a Hotel Indigo with 128 rooms managed by Fortuna Realty Group.
Among the tallest new construction projects in Lower Manhattan is 45 Park Place, a 667-foot-tall residential building in Tribeca. Designed by SOMA Architects with Ismael Leyva Architects as the executive and residential architect, progress was swift on the reinforced concrete structure throughout much of 2019, but work halted toward the end of the year and has yet to resume. The 43-story building is being developed by Sharif el-Gamal of Soho Properties with Piero Lissoni as the interior designer.
