Foundations for 25 Columbus Drive Reach Street Level in Jersey City

The reinforced concrete foundation walls for 25 Columbus Drive have reached street level in downtown Jersey City. Additional rebar is sticking out and pointing upward, indicating the location of the columns and walls for the ground-up, 626-foot-high mixed-use project. Handel Architects is designing and Mack Cali is developing the proposed 57-story skyscraper, while Fogarty Finger is the interior architect.

125 Greenwich Street’s Glass Façade Nearing Completion in The Financial District

Façade work is nearing completion at 125 Greenwich Street. Installation of the thin glass panels on the podium of the slender 88-story residential skyscraper is underway. This is the final portion of the curtain wall awaiting completion, apart from the sections behind the construction hoist, which should be disassembled soon. The 912-foot-tall glass and concrete skyscraper is designed by Rafael Vinoly and developed by Bizzi & Partners and Vector Group. The 273 residential units are being marketed by Douglas Elliman, while the interiors are being designed by March & White.

533 Mercer Street, aka 289 Jordan, Begins Ascent Over Jersey City

Construction at 533 Mercer Street, aka 289 Jordan, has risen above street level in the McGinley Square neighborhood of Jersey City. Located at the intersection of Mercer Street and Jordan Street, the 16-story mixed-use residential property will contain a total of 300 apartments. These will include 56 affordable housing units, 138 studios, 90 one-bedroom homes, 33 two-bedrooms, and six three-bedroom homes. The project is being designed by Marchetto Higgins Stieve Architects and developed by Mercer Jordan LLC, an affiliate of New York-based company Sequoia Development Group, GRID Real Estate and Dresdner Robin.

Pendry Hotel’s Wavy Curtain Wall Begins Assemblage at 4 Manhattan West in Midtown

Construction is moving along smoothly on the Pendry Hotel, aka 4 Manhattan West. The reinforced concrete superstructure of the 21-story Midtown West development has risen past the halfway mark, and installation of its distinctive wavy façade has begun on the northern and western elevations. The mixed-use project, which is designed by Skidmore Owings & Merrill and developed by Brookfield Properties, is slated to offer 164 guest rooms and a selection of condominiums on its upper floors.

Hilton Grand Vacation Hotel’s Geometric Façade Begins Installation at 12 East 48th Street in Midtown East

Façade work is underway at 12 East 48th Street on what will become a 161-room Hilton Grand Vacation Hotel. Located in Midtown East between Madison Avenue and Fifth Avenue, the reinforced concrete superstructure has already topped out and the curtain wall on the northern elevation is beginning to rise above the ground floor. Designed by Handel Architects, the bright metallic frames that surround the building’s windows will form a subtly oscillating geometric pattern. Hidrock Realty is the developer of the project.
