Hermès Pursues New Flagship Store at 706 Madison Avenue on the Upper East Side

Today the Landmarks Preservation Commission will hear proposals from Hermès of Paris to renovate a historic structure at 706 Madison Avenue in Manhattan’s Upper East Side Historic District. Built in 1921, the five-story Neo-Federal style building comprises approximately 40,000 square feet and includes two outdoor terraces. The scope of renovation includes the replacement of existing windows, doors, and metal railings.

Extell Partners With Tennor Holding to Complete 50 West 66th Street, the Upper West Side’s Tallest Skyscraper

Extell Development Company has announced a major joint venture with global investment entity Tennor Holding B.V. to complete 50 West 66th Street, a 775-foot-tall residential skyscraper on Manhattan’s Upper West Side. When finished, the building will wrest the title of tallest building in the neighborhood from 200 Amsterdam Avenue.

Rafael Viñoly Architects Proposes Renovation of National Academy Museum’s Former Upper East Side Headquarters

International gallerist Salon 94 has partnered with Rafael Viñoly Architects to convert and expand the National Academy Museum’s former Upper East Side headquarters into a new gallery, research center, and residence. Located at 3 East 89th Street in Carnegie Hill, any alterations to the landmarked building require explicit approvals from the Landmarks Preservation Commission.
