Exterior Work Progresses on Taystee Lab Building at 450 West 126th Street in Manhattanville, Manhattan

Construction is nearing completion on the Taystee Lab Building, an 11-story mixed-use project at 450 West 126th Street in the Manhattanville section of West Harlem. Designed by LEVENBETTS and SLCE Architects and developed by Janus Property Group, the 350,000-square-foot building will yield Class A office space and state-of-the-art lab facilities, as well as space for organizations devoted to life sciences, technology, academic and non-profit programs, retail, and the arts. The property gets its name from the Taystee Cake Bakery Factory, which formerly stood on the site. BR+A Consulting Engineers is helping to construct the structure and LendLease is serving as construction manager.

Façade Work Progresses on 2505 Broadway on Manhattan’s Upper West Side

Façade work is moving along on 2505 Broadway, a 19-story residential building on Manhattan’s Upper West Side. Designed by ODA Architecture LPC and developed by Tomer Yogev of Adam America Real Estate, the 75,000-square-foot structure stands 210 feet tall and will yield a total of 44 residential units, averaging 1,934 square feet apiece, as well as 5,000 square feet of ground-floor retail space. The property is located between West 93rd and West 94th Streets.

Located near Columbus Avenue, the undeveloped lot is wedged between a five-story condominium building and a row of three-story single-family townhouses.

2551 Broadway Continues Vertical Ascent on Manhattan’s Upper West Side

Construction is rising at 2551-2555 Broadway, a 22-story residential project on Manhattan’s Upper West Side. Located at the corner of Broadway and West 96th Street, the 276,578-square-foot structure is designed by Stephen B. Jacobs Group and is being developed by Extell, which purchased the property for $80 million in a sale facilitated by Eastern Consolidated. The building will yield 215,866 square feet of residential space with 130 units, likely condominiums with an average scope of 1,660 square feet, as well as 9,080 square feet of commercial space.

Trader Joe’s Reveals New Store at 121 West 125th Street in Harlem, Manhattan

Trader Joe’s will soon open a new grocery store in Harlem, the chain’s first location in Upper Manhattan. The store will occupy 28,000 square feet of ground-floor space of the forthcoming Urban League Empowerment Center at 121 West 125th Street.

Demolition Progresses at 1841-1845 Broadway on Manhattan’s Upper West Side

Demolition is progressing at 1841 and 1845 Broadway on Manhattan’s Upper West Side, where a 24-story mixed-use building is planned to rise. The two adjacent properties are owned by Global Holdings Management Group, and Ancora Engineering is listed as the applicant of record on demolition permits that were filed in 2019. The site is bound by Broadway to the east and West 60th Street to the south, and sits just north of Columbus Circle and the southwestern corner entrance to Central Park.

Final Renderings Revealed for Children’s Museum of Manhattan at 361 Central Park West, on the Upper West Side

Following a series appeals to the Landmarks Preservation Commission and eventual approval in June 2020, The Children’s Museum of Manhattan (CMOM) will soon debut at 361 Central Park West on Manhattan’s Upper West Side. Architect of record FXCollaborative has released new renderings of the museum, which will occupy a former church and New York City landmark.
