Permits Filed for 1393 York Avenue on Manhattan’s Upper East Side

Permits have been filed for a 17-story mixed-use building at 1393 York Avenue on the Upper East Side of Manhattan. Located at the northwest corner of 74th Street and York Avenue, the lot is near the 72nd Street subway station, serviced by the Q train. Weill Cornell Medical College is listed as the owner behind the applications, after purchasing the property for $68 million from the Church of the Epiphany. The new development will hold student residences, student common centers, a fitness center, and support spaces.

The Benson Nears Completion at 1045 Madison Avenue in Carnegie Hill, Manhattan

Construction is wrapping up on The Benson, an 18-story condominium building at 1045 Madison Avenue in the Carnegie Hill section of the Upper East Side. Designed by Peter Pennoyer and developed by The Naftali Group, the 210-foot-tall reinforced concrete structure will yield 16 residential units spread across 59,032 square feet, for an average of 3,700 square feet apiece, as well as 3,993 square feet of ground-floor retail space. The inventory of homes includes three penthouses, and the majority of the units feature full-floor layouts. Leeding Builders Group is the general contractor of the project, which is located between East 79th and East 80th Streets, a short walk from Central Park.

150 East 78th Street’s Brick and Limestone Exterior Wraps Up on Manhattan’s Upper East Side

Exterior work is getting closer to completion on 150 East 78th Street, a 16-story residential building on Manhattan’s Upper East Side. Designed by Robert A. M. Stern Architects and developed by Midwood Investment & Development and EJS Group, the 205-foot-tall structure will yield 25 units in three- to five-bedroom layouts spread across 68,293 square feet as well as 3,739 square feet of ground-floor retail. Ismael Leyva Architects is the executive architect and residential layout designer for the project, which is located at the corner of East 78th Street and Lexington Avenue. Sales are underway and are being handled by Compass Development Marketing Group.

Permits have been filed for a seven-story residential building at 240 West 123rd Street in Harlem, Manhattan. Located between Adam Clayton Powell Jr. Boulevard and Frederick Douglass Boulevard, the lot is two blocks from the 125th Street subway station, serviced by the 2 and 3 trains. Tomas Machiavello of Freres, Inc. is listed as the owner behind the applications.

200 East 83rd Street’s Façade Installation Continues on Manhattan’s Upper East Side

Façade installation is continuing to progress on 200 East 83rd Street, a 35-story residential tower on Manhattan’s Upper East Side. Designed by Robert A.M. Stern Architects and developed by Naftali Group and Rockefeller Group, the 243,128-square-foot reinforced concrete superstructure will yield 86 units spread over 205,877 square feet, averaging 2,393 square feet apiece. Sales for the homes are currently underway and are being handled by Compass. SLCE Architects is the architect of record and Leeding Builders Group is the general contractor for the project, which is located at the corner of Third Avenue and East 83rd Street.

Sales Launch for 109 East 79th Street on Manhattan’s Upper East Side

Sales have launched for the topped-out 109 East 79th Street, a 20-story residential building under construction on Manhattan’s Upper East Side. Designed by Steven Harris Architects and developed by Legion Investment Group, the 210-foot-tall structure will yield 145,000 square feet divided into 31 condominiums, some spanning over 6,000 square feet. Corcoran Sunshine Marketing Group is the exclusive marketing and sales agent for the two- to five-bedroom residences. Cauldwall Wingate is the general contractor for the project, which is located between Lexington and Park Avenues. The Cathy Franklin Team is handling on-site sales and pricing begins at $5.5 million for a two-bedroom residence to $35 million for a full-floor penthouse with private roof terrace. Interiors and landscaping are being done by Rees Roberts + Partners.

Renderings from NDKazalas Architecture have revealed a new eight-story residential building at 521 West 134th Street in Manhattan’s West Harlem neighborhood. From Haussmann Development, the building will eventually create 28 rental units spread across 19,000 square feet.

Construction is complete on 1228 Madison Avenue, a 20-story residential building in the Carnegie Hill section of Manhattan’s Upper East Side. Designed by Robert A.M. Stern Architects and developed by CBSK Ironstate, a partnership of CB Developers, SK Development, and Ironstate, the structure will yield 15 condominiums designed by Kelly Behun Studio with sales handled by Corcoran Sunshine Marketing Group. SLCE Architects was the architect of record for the project, which is located along Madison Avenue between East 88th and 89th Streets, directly behind Frank Lloyd Wright’s Guggenheim Museum.

Construction is rising on 1165 Madison Avenue, a 13-story residential building on Manhattan’s Upper East Side. Robert A. M. Stern Architects is the design architect, SLCE Architects as the architect or record, and Naftali Group is the developer of the 67,680-square-foot structure, now known as The Bellemont, will stand 210 feet tall and yield 12 condominiums spread across 58,919 square feet, as well as 3,749 square feet of retail space. Titanium Construction Services is the general contractor for the project, which is located at the corner of Madison Avenue and East 86th Street.

LPC Approves $130M Renovation of the Historic Harlem River Houses in Manhattan

The Landmarks Preservation Commission (LPC) unanimously approved a comprehensive renovation of the historic Harlem River Houses surrounding West 151st Street and Adam Clayton Powell Jr. Boulevard in Upper Manhattan. The scope of work includes major improvements to the existing landscape design and outdoor recreation areas, lighting and security improvements, new retail storefronts, refurbished apartments, and sustainability improvements.
