The first rendering has been revealed of 200 East 83rd Street, a 449-foot-tall residential tower from Robert A.M. Stern on Manhattan’s Upper East Side. Developed by Naftali Group and Rockefeller Group, the structure will rise 35 stories and house 86 units. SLCE Architects as the architect of record for the project, which is located at Third Avenue and East 83rd Street.
GKV Architects has unveiled proposals to renovate an existing rental property at 240 West 73rd Street on Manhattan’s Upper West Side. Known as The Tempo, the building is located in the West End-Collegiate Historic District and could eventually be renamed “The Penelope.”
Local architects Groves & Co. has proposed the expansion of an elegant, historic townhouse located at 42 West 94th Street on Manhattan’s Upper West Side. Given the property’s location within the picturesque Central Park West Historic District, the design team must gain approvals from the New York City Landmarks Preservation Commission.
The Jewish Museum on Manhattan’s Upper East Side has proposed a vibrant, multi-story mural to be installed at the corner of Fifth Avenue and East 92nd Street. The neon blue artwork was designed by Lawrence Weiner in 2011 and reads “All the stars in the sky have the same face,” in Hebrew, Arabic, and English lettering.
Permits have been filed for a ten-story mixed-use building at 2735 Frederick Douglass Boulevard in Harlem. Located between West 145th Street and West 146th Street, the interior lot is three blocks from the 145th Street subway station, serviced by the A, B, C, and D trains. Also within walking distance is the 148th Street Lenox Terminal station, serviced by the 3 train. New York City’s Department of Housing Preservation and Development is listed as the owner behind the applications.
