Four-Story Storage Facility Planned At 31-07 20th Avenue, Ditmars Steinway

Operating under an LLC, Madison Development has filed applications for a four-story, 175,000 square-foot storage building at the vacant lot of 31-07 20th Avenue, near the Con Edison generating station in northern Astoria’s Ditmars Steinway. It’s unknown if the building will be used for Con Ed’s operations, but the facility would be very convenient. Long Island-based Frank Relf is the architect of record.

Four-Story Property At 112 Bowery Getting Full Commercial Conversion, Chinatown

An anonymous LLC’s four-story townhouse at 112 Bowery, in Chinatown, is now receiving a small expansion to 7,300 square feet, according to Bowery Boogie. The building is being converted into an entirely commercial property, with retail space on the ground floor and office/storage space on the upper levels. Zhu Heng Zheng’s Interamericana Engineering is the applicant of record, and completion is likely by 2016.


Triangle Plaza Hub

Commercial Project At 459 East 149th Street To Open This Fall, South Bronx

Last year, YIMBY revealed the two-story, 88,000 square-foot Triangle Plaza Hub planned at 459 East 149th Street, in South Bronx. Now the commercial and community building is close to being fully leased, according to the Daily News. The building is expected to open this upcoming fall, and tenants include Brightpoint Health, DaVita Dialysis Center, Vistasite Eye Care, Fine Fare Supermarket, Metropolitan College of New York and Boston Market. Triangle Equities is developing, and S9 Architecture is designing.


701 West 181st Street

Commercial-Retail Development Site At 701 West 181st Street On The Market, Washington Heights

BLDG Management is marketing 701 West 181st Street in northern Washington Heights as a development site, according to DNAinfo. The building once housed Manhattan’s oldest operating movie theater, which shuttered in 2011, and has since been filled with small retail tenants. The property allows for a 70,000 square-foot commercial building. Zelnik & Company Real Estate is marketing the site.


624 West 52nd Street

Jeff Koons Assembles Possible Development Site At 624 West 52nd Street, Hell’s Kitchen

Artist Jeff Koons has acquired the three-story commercial building at 624 West 52nd Street, near the Hudson River in Hell’s Kitchen, for $12.7 million. Koons also owns the lots at 620-622 West 52nd Street, after picking them up this past May for a total of $11 million. The assemblage boasts nearly 50,200 square feet of development potential, although plans for the properties are not known.
