Work at 113 West 24th Street is in full swing as the upcoming 420-foot-tall Marriott hotel has now risen above street level. The 38-story project is located in Chelsea between Sixth Avenue and Seventh Avenue and is being designed by Stonehill & Taylor Architects with Lam Generation as the developer.
Construction of a 419-foot-tall hotel at 140 West 28th Street in Chelsea is passing the halfway mark. Workers are currently pouring the 29th floor and getting ready to create the form work for the 30th floor. The tower is designed by Gene Kaufman Architect and is being developed by Eastern Consolidated. The property successfully secured a $121.35 million debt and equity package last year thanks to the Bank of the Ozarks and Square Mile Capital Management. There will be 526 rooms divided among a Marriott, TownePlace Suites, and Springhill Suites. Each will have its own separate lobby on the ground floor and shared common rooms.
The Jardim at 527 West 27th Street is an upcoming 11-story residential complex in Chelsea. It stands adjacent to Zaha Hadid’s 520 West 28th Street project. The new property has already topped out and almost all the exterior work is finished, with only minor touches awaiting completion on the ground level and top floors. Meanwhile, the interiors of the 36 units are being fitted out, each averaging 2,500 square feet. The 90,000-square-foot undertaking is being designed by Isay Weinfeld and developed by Centaur Properties and Pizzarotti.
On the heels of the topping-out of The XI’s second tower, YIMBY attended the official ceremony for the milestone hosted by the project’s architect Bjarke Ingels, offering a first look at the sweeping views from the top of the complex. The 908,250-square-foot development stands next to the High Line in Chelsea and is now the tallest set of buildings in the neighborhood. The first 30-story skyscraper sitting closer to the Hudson River reached the 402-foot-tall roof parapet last year. The shorter 20-story, 300-foot-tall sibling climbed to its pinnacle just a couple weeks ago. HFZ Capital Group is the developer of the project. Omnibuild is in charge of constructing this new icon for New York City.
Permits have been filed for a 45-story mixed-use tower at 606 West 30th Street in Chelsea, Manhattan. Located between 11th Avenue and 12th Avenue, the interior lot is close to the 34th Street-Hudson Yards Subway Station subway station, serviced by the 7 train. Lalezarian Properties is listed as the owner behind the applications. In 2015, they acquired the warehouse on the property for $36 million.
