Proposals from the Bridge Rockaway Housing Development Fund Company reveal a new mixed-use housing development in the Brownsville section of eastern Brooklyn. The residential portion of the building would yield up to 124 affordable homes and 62 supportive housing units. The structure’s remaining footprint would house 39,000 square feet of light manufacturing space and 3,400 square feet for community facility space.
Proposals under review by the New York City Planning Commission could spur the development of a 2.4-million-square-foot complex near the East New York waterfront in Brooklyn. From developer Innovative Urban Living and architect PAU, the project would include 13 new buildings with varying heights of two to 17 stories.
City officials recently gathered in the Fordham Heights section of The Bronx to celebrate the commencement of construction at 2050 Grand Concourse. Designed by Magnusson Architecture and Planning, the 13-story building will contain 96 affordable apartments, comprehensive support facilities for the formerly homeless, and residential amenities.

Located at the intersection of 105th Street and Third Avenue, the lot is a couple blocks north of the 103rd Street subway station, serviced by the 6 train. Jeff Sutton is listed as the owner behind the applications. The commercial real estate developer is known for his many retail properties along the shopping corridors of Fifth Avenue, 34th Street, and Times Square.
The Beach 21st Street project, a 226,000-square-foot mixed-use building, will soon break ground as part of the city’s Downtown Far Rockaway Rezoning and Roadmap for Action. The long-running initiative was conceived by Mayor Bill de Blasio to encourage new retail, housing, and investment opportunities in southeastern Queens.
