YIMBY has been given a first look at the brick façade for 145 President Street, in Brooklyn’s Carroll Gardens neighborhood. Last week the tarp was removed, revealing the building’s handcrafted masonry, produced by Petersen Tegl from Denmark. The style is renowned for having clean lines and neutral tones. East Village-based Avery Hall Investments is the developer.
Today YIMBY has the first rendering for a new residential development coming to 212 Wadsworth Avenue, in Upper Manhattan. The development is rising on the site of the demolished Wadsworth Avenue Baptist Church, which was purchased in 2015 for $8 million. Silverback Development has partnered with Caerus Group on the $47 million project.
Last week, ground was broken on the site of a new Jersey City school. BelovED Community Charter School is building a new middle school at 535 Grand Street. The organization, currently serving 960 students, is named to honor Martin Luther King Jr.’s vision for a “Beloved Community.” New Jersey Community Capital and Provident Bank have given $12.5 million for construction financing of the project. Friends 2 and Hollister Construction Services are responsible for the development.
Permits have been filed for a six-story mixed-use building at 1562 Dekalb Avenue, in Bushwick, Brooklyn. The site is two blocks away from the Dekalb Avenue subway station, serviced by the L trains. Xiao Yong Lin of Global Team 123 will be responsible for the development.
